I did some price checks on the GE Energy Smart Bulbs. There are lot of options but here are some great deals I found:
Use the coupon in the ad plus a MQ:
2.50 Off GE Energy Smart Compact Fluorescent Lighting Product, Assorted Varieties, 1 to 6-ct pkg
-$1/1 from 04-19-09 SS
-$1/1 All You, April 17, 2009
-$1/1 PRINT
- 13 watt- $2.95
- 20 watt-$3.59
- 26 watt-$4.89
I was confused by the differece in watts at first…so here is a guide to help you choose the correct one:
Standard Bulb | CFL Bulb | |
40w | = | 10w |
60w | = | 13w-15w |
75w | = | 20w |
100w | = | 26w-29w |
150w | = | 38w-42w |
250w-300w | = | 55w |
We have converted almost our entire house to CFL’s…so looks like now is a great time to stock up!!
At publix.com, it gave me the option to print the 2.50 GE coupon and I would really be able to print as many as I wanted. Is that okay? I just don’t want to get to the counter with 6 and them say I can only use one.
the Q in the circular says “Limit one deal per customer”- that is the only thing that makes me nervous and I am not sure what that should be translated to mean? what does the printed Q say? – Michelle what do u think?
The printed one says the same thing “Limit one deal per customer”. I would really like to stock up if we are able to use more than one ad coupon in conjunction with the MQ’s.
I just got back from Publix. They only let me use one store ad coupon. But it rang up as an Advantage Buy and gave me another $1 off! I got the 13 watt which is regularly priced at $3.89 at my store. So
$3.89
-$1 advantage buy
-$2.50 ad coupon
-$1 MQ
=$0.61 overage!!!!
Good thing my store is less than a mile from my house because I’m going to make several trips. Hope this works for some of you too!!!
Hmmm…one deal per customer….I didn’t even notice that as I was going from my typed copy and not from the coupon itself (shame on me!!)
Ask your store for sure! My store would be A-Ok with me buying multiples -but in case of doubt ALWAYS ask!
Good catch Kerry!!
Thanks for the heads up Daphne!
And a PS to Ginger- if it was a situation where you could have used 6 Qs- I would save your ink and just bring your scissors to the store- or if you ask the manager ahead of time they would probably be more than happy to apply the one coupon 6 times as opposed to you cutting up 6 of their flyers :).
Thank you for the tip Kerry! That is a good thought!
Daphne-great job on the bulbs! That is a super deal!
Thanks for this great tip. We were wanting to switch to the energy savings bulb but was waiting until I could get them cheap.
Well this is it. I got each bulb for 0.79.
As for cutting up flyers, my Publix xerox their coupons and tape them to the products.
Lori- I was curious if yours rang up as an advantage buy as well? Or did you just buy the higher watt bulbs? I am wanting to know if the advantage buy is Publix wide or just regional? Thanx!
I got my GE bulb! I was only able to use one coupon and the price was $3.79 in McDonough. I used both the Publix coupon and the IP and got it for .20!
The Publix I just went to wouldn’t let me stack the store and MQ. That’s the first time that’s ever happened to me. 🙁
