I am hoping to add a new section to the site…but in order to make this work– I will need help from all of you!
I want to put a page on the site where you will be able to click to find a specific store’s policy. I hope to include information about competitor coupons accepted and any other specific policies. One of the most unpleasant issues that I encounter using coupons is when I am given inconsistent information each time I shop in a store. I spend a great deal of time planning my shopping trips, organizing coupons and actually shopping. Nothing frustrates me more than when I get to check out and am met by uninformed cashiers, policy changes or general misinformation!
So–If you guys want to help me create this resource I need you to give me some information. I need you to send me the following:
-Store Address/Store Number (either or both)
-phone number (if possible)
-Manager’s name (if possible)
-Competitor coupons accepted (names of stores)
-Any specific policy given
Here is the first bit of information–you will be able to find it on the “Store Info” tab at the top of the page:

Great Idea! When I visit my store this week, I’ll grab the info and submit.
I went to store #00721 ( State Bridge Rd) location last month and had a horrible experience with cashier and supervisor for using competitor coupons (Whole Food, and MQ). They were not too friendly ( I had to explain about stacking competitor coupons and MQ, indicating other Publix accept those coupons) and my children got so embarrased that they asked me not to use coupons anymore…Of course, I can not do that, so I simply go to other location.
Hi Michelle…
Perhaps on the page that lists all the store info, you want to have a statement at the top on how folks can contribute since this post will soon be buried and newcomers might not know how to provide input since you have comments closed there.
Great idea John! I’m on it!
I think this is a great idea, though it has personally not worked for me. I have asked at CS which competitors, then been denied them at the register. It seems its at the discretion of the cashier and whoever is ‘manager on duty’. Once the store manager told me something was ok, but the cashier refused it saying her on duty supervisor said no, even though his boss is the manager. I wish they would be more consistent.
Now I try to use less than 3 competitor coupons per visit. I also never count on them, I expect them to deny it, and if they accept its just a few added cents/dollar bonus.
Tanya…
I would either stop by when the store manager is there and talk with him/her about it or send a letter. I think it’s fair to raise this as an issue with them so they know there are inconsistencies at their store. I had inconsistent treatment on overages at one Publix I frequent (after the assistant store manager told me they give overages and the mgr on duty refused) so I finally faxed a letter to the store manager. He immediately called me and apologized for the confusion and promised to ensure all the cashiers and staff would be on the same page with this and other coupon policy. I can tell you that I noticed a difference.
I think if they understand you are just trying to stay within their policies while maximizing your savings, they will try to help. I still can’t get them to put it in writing but it helps to know the rules before you play the game.
Parkway Centre (Store #00650)
7600 Schomburg Rd
Columbus, GA 31909-1833
Main: (706) 565-3260
Manager: Stewart MacDougall
Competitors: Winn-Dixie, Piggly Wiggly
Specifics: Will not accept competitor coupons for “free” products, competitor coupons do not double and cannot be stacked with manufacturer coupons. Target, Walmart & drug stores are NOT considered competitors – only local competitors are considered valid. Any scanned coupons after $50 reached requires supervisor override – they need to be typed in individually and will not scan. Most cashiers want the coupons up front before scanning any groceries!
