This was a slow week for me at the grocery store! I only went to Publix once and spent a whopping $5.81. I did go to CVS twice and my plan was thwarted by the fact that everything I had intended to purchase was not in stock. So rather than come up with a new plan–I blew a bunch of ECB’s on diapers and chocolate (my ECB’s were expiring so I figured I used them on something we can always put to use 🙂 )
Here is what I got for $5.81:
Bushs Baked Beans x 4 (used two $1/2 IP’s)
Smuckers Toppings x 4 (used B3G1 and $1.25/2 coupons and $.55/1)
Grill Mates x 2 (used two $1/1)
Publix Tortilla Chips (penny item)
Philly Cream Cheese (used $1/1 Grape mag Q)
*Pampers Diapers x 5 (used five $1/1 MQ from P&G insert)
*M&M Mega Tubes x 3
*Bliss Chocolate x 2
*3M Metallic Hooks x 6 (Raincheck + six $2.50/1 MQ’s)
According to my receipts I saved $167.41 which means my savings percentage was 97% this week. Remember I only report actual out of pocket expenses. My CVS* transactions were paid by ECB’s and the tax of $2.51 came from a gift card.
I am also going to try something new this week. A few of you have requested that I post my “game plan” or what I am planning on purchasing and the corresponding coupons. So–I am going to give it a try! Here is my general plan for the beginning of next week. This is a general plan–I may add or delete items based on the upcoming ad or if I see we need something else before then 🙂

Items qualify for Full Plate Rebate – earn three $10 gift cards
Send in MIR for full Rebate of $2.49
I will wait until Monday to do this transaction. Some of the prices are estimates –should be pretty close though! $120 of the $136 will not be included in my grocery budget but will be pulled from the auto budget. So I will really only spend approx $18 after tax for all the items and have all the required Full Plate Rebate items purchased. I will still need to spend about $14 OOP to complete the requirements for the rebate–but I will worry about that next week! I wavered on whether to do the rebate since the requirement called for the totals to be after coupons this year. I had previously traded for the Kraft Parmesan coupons so I had planned on purchasing those and the cheese is always needed here…so I am actually spending $1.98 total to get the $30 worth of gift cards. I don’t want or need the BBQ sauce or A1–but I figured it was a $28 money maker so I would bite the bullet –hee hee!
Give me some feedback on the game plan concept. Is this something that you all would like to see again or is it of no help?
Okie Dokie–how did you all do this week? Leave a comment or link to your Weekly Totals.
Mine is almost identical. There are only 2 extra things I have on mine. I estimate the tax and include that in the OOP, and I also have a column for # of coupons after coupon description. I never like waiting for a manager to come approve the transaction if there are more coupons than items, so I make sure if I need more ‘fillers’ I get them in advance.
Love the breakdown. I saw a sneak peek for 7/15 that said PF Goldfish will be BOGO.
AWESOME!! I am so excited about the goldfish! I have more coupons! WOO HOO!
very helpful! thanks for taking the time to do this!
I love the chart – good job!
This is great for us “newbies” to see and learn from the “experienced”. I love your site! Thank you!!
Awesome idea Michelle!! This is VERY helpful..
Do you think it would be possible to list what coupons you’re using for each specific product, or is that too time-consuming!? 🙂 I’ve started trading on HCW & I’m almost a “trader” instead of a “trader in training”. I’m still trying to figure all this trading stuff out 🙁 – listing what coupons you use might help me know what I’m looking for. Thanks again for all your hard work!!
Hey Lauren–I have the coupon details in the last column of the spreadsheet.I will try to list all the details (like in the match ups) for next week!
As for what to trade for…keep an eye on the Super Deals post. Typically those are the coupons you are going to want to trade for if you need the item.
This is so helpful! Thanks for your generosity in sharing your time and your game plan with us!
Michelle, Can you tell me about the Apple and Eve? I have both the manufacturer’s coupon and the publix one. Are you buying the seaseme street juice boxes that come 3 or 4 to a pack? Thanks for the keeping up an awesome site!!
Jennifer-the Sesame St 4 packs are Organic 100% Juice so both Q’s should match. I initally thought that the SSS book Q was for the bigger packs only but a friend pointed out the fact that the Sesame St say 100% juice on the box–so it is a match after all as there are no other limitations listed. Long way to say –Yep I am getting the Sesame St 4 packs 🙂
Thank you!! I love your site and follow it faithfully. Publix is my fave grocery store 🙂
I like the spreadsheet! Thanks for taking time to post it. Your blog is extremely helpful. I even linked to your post when I couldn’t do my Publix post.
I absolutely love this! I’m relatively new to couponing so I only wish I could find these booklets with the store coupons in them so that I could stack more coupons. Anyway, the spreadsheet is fantastic!
