My husband decided to take today off so I had a few minutes to start on my weekly totals. I will update it in a bit as I still have to go buy some Rotel for his dip that he “needs” for the football game tomorrow night 🙂 This was a FANTASTIC week and I did a ton of shopping! I was able to stock up on baby wipes, lots of meat, yogurt and replenish my husband’s Diet Coke stash. Boy I am thankful for CVS and Walgreens deals as that is how I can get the cokes. I just can’t justify paying $3+ per pack of Coke! Good or bad–it is what my husband drinks– and I mean in massive quantities. Since he is nice enough to get up and go to work everyday to provide for our family–I guess I can feed his request 😉
This week I spent $21.73 out of pocket for over $500 worth of products. I think this was my best week in quite a while!! That means I saved 96% using coupons this week. To all those who say you can’t buy anything good with coupons really need to check out my list. Of course I got some junk but I also was able to get over 28 pounds of meat, tons of dairy products, fruits and vegetables, and cleaning products. I was also able to add more to my donation pile that will be taken to a food bank at the end of the month. So I’d say it was a good week!
I will try and update the coupon details tonight. Here is what I got for less than $22:

Blue = Publix, Red = CVS, Green = Walgreens
* I did not include the cost of the Bayer monitor in my totals as that will be donated and would inflate my totals 🙂 Also this is a compilation of several trips combined together!
How did you do this week? Leave a comment or link to your weekly totals!
I spent $11.47 and saved $106.38 for a 90% savings this week!
Where did you get your meat coupons?
What was the deal with Pullups @ Publix? What coupons did you use?
Hey there I live in Charleston SC. I juast found a $5 off of $25 dollars at Piggly Wiggly, will Publix accept this?
Sorry forgot to say it was a newspaper coupon, Post and Courier.
$1 coupon on cokes–where can I find them???
Just got a GREAT deal on some pork tenderloin at Publix! The Hormel Always Tender Pork Tenderloin (comes in lots of flavors- I got Teriaki, Orginal/plain, and peppercorn) was on sale for $ 5.99 each (they are over 1 lb- 18.4 oz to be exact). I had a bunch of $3/1 off coupons that I had gotten from some bbq booklet I found earlier this summer at Publix (can’t remember the name, it also had a $1/1 coupon for some meat kebabs- Michiaenglo or something). This made them $2.99 each- a great deal considering we use these all the time! They are great for healthy pulled pork (b/c they are such a lean cut) and great for grilling, etc.
Elizabeth…I used the $2 off meat WYB A1 tearpad (thus the reason I have like 30 bottles of A1 on the list–teehee!)
Jennifer…I used a MQ with a $3.75/1 Publix Baby Club Q
Christine…If your store considers the Pig a competitor then yes they should (ask your store to confirm)
Shannon–the Coke coupons are a part of a tearpad $1/2 12 pack cans or $1/1 bottles.
Wow! That is awesome! Good work! I love to see how other people save money as well! 😉
Hello.
Is there anyway you could break down further your meat purchase @ Publix? I would certainly love to know how you got all that and used $26 in Q’s. By the way, I’ve only been doing this a few months now and meat/produce is still hard to save on for me.
Thanks!
Hey Joe…I bought 26 bottles of A1 sauce and used 26 $2/1 coupons and paid $2.60 for those AND I bought 13 packs of meat (all priced a little over $2) and used thirteen $2 off meat WYB two Kraft (A1) products. The meat came up to $4.83 after coupons…so the A1 and meat cost around $8 total! I also did another transaction and got 4 more bottles and two more packs of meat…
Hello everyone, I just got into the couponing thing and I love it, even though my savings are nothing like any of yours. I can only hope that maybe one day soon I will have 95% savings. But I am still confused on where to get all of the booklets and the tearpad coupons. What do you do if your Publix does not have the “tearpads”.?????????? And is there a secret as to when and where to find the coupon books. Thanks for anyones advice 🙂
Where did you get all of those $2 off meat wyb A1 tearpad coupons?
I trade A LOT or will buy the good coupons from a clipping service or even Ebay…I usually get 20-40 at one time!!
But how do you know which coupons to be looking for? And how do you keep track of it all????
what clipping service? also, how do you trade? thanks!
Question for Michelle re: the meat deals: Did you have the butcher make the packages so that they were a little over $2 each or did you find them in the store? I am a little shy and feel like I am making trouble for people to make my coupons work. Just wondering how it went for you. Thanks!
Also- where did you find the meat tearpads? I am always on the lookout and never seem to find any tearpads here! Thanks!
Jamie
I typically check around to see the best price for coupons…I like thecouponclippers.com They are relatively inexpensive and ship fast.–I like being able to use money from my paypal acct…same reason I will go through ebay! My paypal is my monopoly money…so I like to be able to use it for coupon as it doesn’t take money from my wallet 🙂
Justine
I have the ad up several days before the sale starts (typically Monday and my sale does not start until Thursday) I don’t do my shopping until the Monday after the sale starts so that give me an entire week to obtain all the coupons that I will need. It is usually plenty of time to get prepared!! Also thanks to my fantastic friend in Florida…she has access to an abundance of coupons so she lets me know when she finds the hot ones!! I also keep an eye out on the big sites like HCW so I know when a “hot” coupon comes out!! Trading is very easy–you just have to find someone who has what you want and trade them for something they want. Most couponers do coupon for coupon trading (my prefered method) some trade for stamps or even cash/paypal. Check out the Trade section on this site–you can put up a wishlist or what you are looking for. Let people know how to contact you and what you have to offer in return (you can leave it open to requests…if you want)
Shannon–I did have one package broken into two but all the others were pre-packaged at a little over $2–I was fortunate enough to be given a bunch of the coupons since my area is not known for having much of anything–I typically have to get them from friends or trades or I am out of luck!! I have never had anyone ask why or seem to care that I want packages broken…they happily do it!
Michelle how do you get the gift cards (GC) please? Is it possible for the store to owe you money after all of your coupons?
Kristen
I have earned them through various means…I had a big amount on my Walgreens gift card that I had racked up when they used to do the Easy Saver Program. I also use my MyPoints points to “buy” gift cards…that way it doesn’t cost me any money–just points 🙂 A $25 gift card will last me many many months and takes like 3600 points…so it is perfect for me 🙂 I got a CVS gift card a while back via a prescription offer…but it will soon be depleted too…so it is almost time for a new one!!
Michelle can I ask you a few other questions? What are MyPoints? I am really new to all of this. Also does CVS only give the gift cards at certain times for changing prescriptions or is that all the time?
Kristin
MyPoints is a program you sign up for…they send you emails and you get paid by reading their emails, shopping from their site and various other things. I usually just click the emails as that is all I have time for 🙂
Yes–CVS only offers the GC for scripts occasionally—I got lucky that my son needed more cort cream at the right time!!
