Since my 3 year old is in preschool twice a week I have been able to do a little shopping with just one kiddo in tow–makes life a bit easier! I was able to hit CVS, Walgreens and Walmart in one day and still take him to his little gymboree class–I am feeling so productive!! I also went to Publix twice and attempted Food Lion Triples–so I got a bunch this week! I had not seen all of my totals together so I had no idea where I was as far as my spending. I have to say that I am very happy with my totals this week!!
I spent $28.86 for a total of $307.15 worth of products. That means I had a 91% savings this week–works for me! I was able to maintain or build my CVS Extra Care Bucks and Walgreens Register Rewards this week too! I like to keep the Drugstore “monopoly money” available as this is what I use to support my husband’s soda habit 🙂 I also bought enough P&G products to qualify for the Cookware MIR.
Here is what I got for $28.96 this week:

I actually made two shopping trips this week, so combining them: $261.59 worth for $31.42 – saved $230.17 = 88%
Michelle, I have to ask where you find a lot of these coupons, especially the WYB coupons that you use on meat and whatnot. I am forever trying to find more and more ways to save money at Publix and I have not been able to get it down to the 90% you are doing here. The best I have done is between 50 and 60%. Where did you find the Eggo peelies and the Bakery coupons? This is really frustrating because it makes me feel like there is more that I can do and I’m missing something or there’s something I’m not doing that I could be doing.
I also wonder if you have suggestions for what I can with coupons that I can’t use. I get lots of coupons in packages and in the mail for items that I don’t use and I have tried to trade them on HCW, but, since I don’t need much at the moment, I can’t figure out what to do with them. My baby and kid item coupons I can get rid of (trading on Baby Cheapskate), but the others I am at a loss for what to do with. I don’t want to throw them away, but I don’t have anyone to give them to. Thanks!
Hey Jennifer
I trade a bunch to get the coupons that I need! I have some wonderful friends who also hook me up with great coupons! There are lots of ways to get coupons–you can trade, buy on ebay, buy from a clipping site and sometimes you just get lucky! The Bakery coupons I used were from a Publix art calendar that I got at the end of last year and the Eggo Q’s were compliment of a gal I call my coupon angel—she is lucky as her job is coupons…so I get one that were to be thrown away! The $2 produce when you buy were from a booklet that came out long ago. Using coupons takes a lot of patience and storage space 🙂 I have tons of coupons too and end up with a ton that go unused too… I was going in with a friend and splitting shipping cost to a base overseas and need to do it again. Our “contact” is no longer there so I am not sure what I will do with them now. If anyone has suggestions I’d love to hear them!!
I got $250 in groceries and spent $54!!!
