UPDATE–I have changed the file to an XLS format which should work with all versions of Excel–so try again if you were having issue.
Another request that MANY of you have made is how to get a copy of a simple spreadsheet. I personally need more than a shopping list…I need to have a detailed spreadsheet listing quantity, price, coupons and ultimately what my final cost should be. I love being able to see exactly what I am spending on each item and the final cost. I can print my spreadsheet and not only have my shopping list but a quick reference for price and a way to ensure what I see at checkout is in line with what I expect to pay!! Since the spreadsheet does the calculations all I need to do it a little typing–then print and shop!!
Here is an example of the spreadsheet I use.
Product | quantity | price | minus Q | TOTAL | Q details | |
Barber Chicken | 4 | 2.5 | 10 | 8 | 2 | four $1/1 MQ + four $1/1 IP |
Buitoni | 5 | 1.2 | 6 | 5 | 1 | five $1/1 insert |
Betty Crocker | 6 | 0.8 | 4.8 | 4.8 | 0 | six $.40/1 IP |
muellers | 2 | 0.7 | 1.4 | 1 | 0.4 | $1/2 home mailer |
carnation evap milk | 4 | 0.5 | 2 | 2 | 0 | two $.50/2 insert |
TOTAL | 3.4 |
I have created a simple spreadsheet that you can access HERE. If you would like to use it all you need to do is right click on the blue link and save it to your computer. Then you will fill in the product, quantity, price and coupon fields. You do not need to complete the TOTAL field as that will be automatically calculated! I have put in a couple of items as a sample–just replace my items with yours and you will be all set. After I shop I go back to my spreadsheet and reconcile with any differences. I can then see exactly how much money I spend per week (I actually pull that total into a separate spreadsheet so I can easily track my overall spending).
Feel free to give it a try! I know this may not be everyone’s cup of tea–but I thought I would offer a solution for those that would like to supercharge their basic shopping list 🙂
Wow, you just make life so easy!!!! You are the best!!!!! Thanks so much!!!!!!
I second Carrie’s opinion… you rock!
Awesome! thanks!
You are the bomb!
Thanks! Cant wait to give it a try 🙂
I would LOVE this, but I can’t get the right thing to pull up. I saved it and there are a bunch of files in there that won’t let me open them. I’m running XP and have MS Office and usually don’t have any problems getting downloads. Thanks for your willingness to share, I hope I can get it to work!!
I can’t get it either….I will check back and see if anyone has any suggestions because I would love it!!
I can’t see it either Michelle. It says it was created on a newer version of Excel than the one I have. It asked if I wanted to download a pack and then nothing happened. Bummer.
Maureen
Thank you so much!
Glad I’m not the only one who can’t get it to work! Thanks, this will really help with my shopping!
Thank you, I can open this version and I ***LOVE*** it!
This came at the best time. I had this on my “to do” list before the New Year. Why reinvent the wheel though. Thanks for sharing! I can’t wait to try it out. I have only been couponing since September and am anxious to see how much I can save in one year!
thx. i needed this.

Thanks so much! I even updated it to see the summation of savings!
latoya – how did you do the summation of savings?
Thank you for this. It was super easy to use. I made my first trip to CVS today and it was very helpful!!
This is awesome to help me out. I am a new couponer!
