I was just watching the news and heard that Publix is taking donations to help raise funds to help earthquake victims in Haiti. 100% of your donation goes directly to the American Red Cross.
The pictures are just heart wrenching–so much devestation. I know that money is tight for everyone right now but if you are able–any little bit will make a difference. Even if you ask the cashier to round your grocery total to the nearest dollar– that little bit of money can and will help.
donate your savings from one grocery bill! I will do this tomorrow!
That is so sad. I don’t have Publix, and not plans to go next months. I have to drive an hour and half. But I got a cell phone, you can text message. Type “HAITI” to “90999”. Donate $10 from Red Cross. It will charge in cell phone bills. They will text back to you if you still wants to donate and reply back to them as “YES”.
I felt great do this..
I totally am astonished by all of the devastation. My husband & I donated money to Haiti. You can also make donations at http://www.yele.org/ . They have had a partnership with Haiti for quite some time and you can also make a $5 donation by texting “YELE” to 501501 if anyone is pinched for cash and still would like to support.
It is absolutely horrific. Our family donated today to Haiti via 90999 text. It’s a drop in the bucket, but with all the other drops, we can make a difference.
And too, if you don’t have a text message plans, I know the Verizon, AT&T and Sprint, will not charge you for text to donation.
I heard on news that American Red Cross had raised $8 millions from text messages. It is sooo easy!
