You guys are cracking me up with all the Knox gelatin ideas you have sent me!! I am sitting on one measly coupon so I will not have nearly the stock that you all have! BUT–feel free to keep sending me your Knox pictures…you guys are the best to give me a good laugh…Shay actually spelled out “HI” in gelatin boxes and sent the picture to me!!
Candi over at Family, Stamping, and Food let me know that she posted several recipes including marshmallows and mousse…you can check them out HERE.
Maybe I should do a giveaway for the most creative use of Knox Gelatine 🙂
The manager at my store said that I wasn’t allowed to use my coupons! She said that if the price of the coupon exceeds the price of the item, it is not allowed 🙁 I was so bummed! I ordered 20 from online! booo!!
If you cant use them I will pay you for what you paid for them! Melissa
Konx?
lol
I was just seeing if you guys were on your toes..hehehe!! 😀
Wow, my store was all out!
What is the Knox deal? I missed it somewhere. Thanks!
use them at walmart!!
“Our” store is out Michelle 🙁 I will just have to wait for another shipment. The key is to make sure you have other things (like I will be getting the Cottonelle TP w/cpns) with your overage. I wished I could go to other Publix stores, but ours is one of the only “local” ones that accepts Target coupons (for the Cottonelle).
Kelly have you tried another Publix store? I have 3 close to me and they all do things differently.
Kelly- Is there another store in your area? Go when you have a big shopping trip (I go weekly for the BOGO’s) and use them then, like only 5 or so at a time…..That way, they’ll never know…..
Isn’t it kind of strange that people feel they have to “sneak” these into their order.
There is a great recipe on “skip to my lou” for Gummie candy that uses knox geletain. http://www.skiptomylou.org/2010/01/06/homemade-gummi-candy/
Yummy fun with the kids!
Alpha…I prefer to call it, making it less obvious! ha ha 🙂 We aren’t doing anything wrong. Unfortunately there are just some coupon hating cashiers out there. So, for now, I just make it “less obvious” that I am using them for the overage.
Now, if we could just incorporate the gelatin with all those Dole fruit cups, we are set!
Is everyone using more than one per transaction? I used only one the other night to test my store. I had a HUGE order so i’d like to use more than one next time…
I had my store order 140 boxes, 70 for me and 70 for my coupon buddy and they have no problem with us buying them all at once. They said they would come on the truck tomorrow so we are super excited!!!! Our plan is to first buy a gift card for $175ish and then ring the Knox and then deduct the q’s so in the end we will spend $0 and walk out with $175 gift card!!!! At first I thought this may not be such a hot idea but then I had to remind myself that the store WILL get paid back for the q’s!!!!!
Sara,
I used 8 last night in one transaction but my Publix has never minded “overage coupons”.
I’m new at the coupon world and have really enjoyed learning and saving. So where do you get your Knox Gelatine coupons?
I’d lovet to hear how that 70 coupon thing works out. that’s something i wouldn’t try in a million years! good luck!
emily, i think it is couponers like you that give other honest non excessive couponers a bad name. the point of the coupon is to get free knox gelatine…not a gift card. that is unhonest and taking advantage of the situation.
dishonest*
Kristin,
Dishonest is when a store adjusts the price of the coupon and then submits it to the manufacturer for the full price. If she purchases a Publix gift card the full amount stays with Publix. She can then use the gift card at Publix as she needs to for her family. Publix will get reimbursed the full coupon price. It really is easy to judge when you aren’t in that person’s situation and/or all of the details. I’m sure the management at her Publix would not special order her in 70 boxes if this was dishonest. They know they are making money from couponers; and I know many free clinic and food banks benefit from the items donated by extreme couponers.
DITTO.
my paper didn’t have Knox q’s. my q buddies and I are so bummed. i’ve never ordered q’s online. how does one go about such a task??
thanks
My local Publix does not allow overage. Anyone know one in the northern ATL ‘burbs that does? I am willing to drive for it! I have a bunch of them!
I tried a Knox coupon at Wal-mart one time and it did NOT give me the overage. my experience has been bad with Wal-Mart and overage.
I used 18 coupons at my Publix this past week & was able to get $50 in gift cards (a first for me–I usually just buy other items to suck up the overage). But my Publix is ok with overage, just won’t give any money back so you have to buy things with it. The cashier double checked the coupon & asked a manager to make sure it was ok, but there was no problem because the coupon clearly stated “any Knox product.”
I was very upfront about everything. I think as long as you are following the policy, & ask if ever in doubt, then you are being completely honest & ethical. [I’m currently taking a grad course in ethics so this has been on my mind lately.] If my store changes their rules then I will gladly follow the new rules. I personally do not feel bad at all because I know that not only will Publix get back their $4 per coupon they gave me, but will make about 8-10cents per coupon when they submit it to the manufacturer. However, I do try to make sure that the coupons print accurately, are not reprints, are not expired & the product matches the coupon so that I do my best to guarantee that the store will get their money from the manufacturer. That is the ethical & honest thing to do.
KBM, I agree. I checked with my Publix managers before I started couponing in their stores, the stores all have different policies. Now I know where to use my Target coupons, Walgreen’s rewards, etc. All my stores are OK with overage for manufacturer coupons – but not overage for store coupons. I always feel confident having the cashier check with the manager, because I know I am within what is allowed.
I did not try to use this coupon because when they were out last year I was told by a very coupon friendly Publix manager that this coupon was not intended by the manufacturer for the gelatine. He said that Publix does not carry the other Knox products and all the Knox coupons had been returned to them unpaid as Knox refused to honor them.
I will not risk everything I get from Publix over this.
If there are two things I am not they are dishonest and unethical. The manager at my store and I have a great rapport. I showed him the coupon and asked him if he would mind ordering them in for me and he went right over to his computer ordered them and told me they would be in on Friday. What is dishonest or unethical about that? I know almost every employee in my store by name and they know me. They NEVER question ANY of my coupons b/c they know me to be honest and ethical. I am very lucky that my checkouts are smooth and quick b/c of this. My store allows overage and will pay it out in cash. Personally, when I have overage that is not eaten up by other items I am more comfortable adding a gift card to my purchase rather than receiving cash. So…Kristin you have never or will never do a deal that allows for overage is that correct? I am assuming that based on your statement that the point of the Knox Q is to get free gelatin not a gift card AKA overage. I find it hard to believe that there would be so many people excited about this Q just for the free gelatin!
My store does carry all the Knox products and they are all located beside the gelatin on the shelf in a row…hence ANY Knox product. With that said if my manager told me what Beth’s told her I would NEVER use them there b/c I totally agree that I would NEVER want to do anything to damage my relationships.
Oh and Donna try ebay or just google coupon clipping services and you will be amazed what you find!! There are LOTS of people who sell coupons and with the help of this site you can see the ad on Mon and order your coupons early so they will be in before the ad ends!
LOL
My Publix and the other 4 or 5 I go to carry the full range of knox products, if I were you I’d check out my store shelves, I bet you’ll see all kinds of knox products. As far as being dishonest, NOT HARDLY!!!
To each his own. I don’t think it’s dishonest if your being honest with the manager of how you will be using the coupon….getting a GC with the overage. If he/she is fine with it than by all means…you have his/her blessing.
I just have a problem with it in the sense that it seems excessive and would hate to ruin a good thing. It does seem a little… in your face..kinda. I hope you don’t think I’m trying to insult you…I’m not…just would like you to consider looking at it from another point of view. Do they know your plan? to get a $175 GC ?
In my area they implemented a only 4 BOGO deals per customer per day policy because some shoppers were coming in and buying extreme quantities not leaving enough for other shoppers. They did the same because some were also asking for rainchecks of extreme quantities. So when things like this occurs some managers might feel the need to implement rules that might not benefit all. kwim.
I’m just saying maybe it’s not a good idea to make it so obvious.
btw My store does carry the Knox joint stuff.
and the finale: The elephant in the room that none want to speak about..lol
There has been question as to whether Publix will be reimbursed for this and previous Knox coupons…becuase of some company buy out or something but I haven’t read a follow up yet if that was resolved or not.
Well I decided to follow up on what I mentioned in my last post and good news it appears it was resolved and they will be reimbursed for the coupon and is proper use of coupon. Here’s what I found for those interested. Well it appears I can’t copy and paste the pictures of the products but the gelantine is pictured as one of the products.

Dont ruin it please because publix will go into coupon lockdown after this, their are so many deals to be had with legitimate overages, read this http://www.afullcup.com/forums/military-commissary/343051-4-knox-coupon-not-used-gelatine.html
I am not a psychiatrist, I am a simple gal with a coupon that reads ANY Knox product. I can not delve into the Psyche or business practices of and what this or that means. The coupon says “any”, and that’s what I am going with and I feel very honest!!!
Natalie…lol…I thought your reply was funny. With your statement in mind it does beg to wonder why the company has not made a distinction in the upc family if they truly did not mean for that coupon to be used on that product. ???? This is not a new issue with this product. It’s come in to question every time it comes around. The packaging appears the same, the upc family is the same, the coupon scans, and it reads ANY Knox as Natalie pointed out. They have to be aware of it but chose not to change it. Again I just wonder why? Could it be that it benefits them ??? Otherwise how many people would actually buy alot of this product?? The coupon floods the market for a short time with their product. Exposing potential future customers to try their product and it possibly become a staple in their home. I agree we can’t know the psyche or business practices of these companies but I do know that if something is hurting the bottomline it typically gets resolved fairly quickly. It’s an easy fix that has not been done. Also I can’t see how the company can deny the reimbursement of this coupon to Publix or any other business that accepts it as long as the terms are followed and they are in fact the same company.
Now I’m not saying…It’s ok or not ok to use this coupon. I think that is going to have to be determined by each individual. Whether it’s dishonest I don’t believe so if you are buying any Knox product.
I’m just wondering why the company has not changed the upc family if they did not want it used for that product. kwim.
This is what is being said at HCW: They are in essence saying it is a legal use of the coupon.

Michelle I’ve gandering at some of the recipes for this and there are some great ones on the linkyou provided. Thank you!
Well, first of all let me say that I have been a reader of this website for some time and was bummed when I could not print any of the coupons for the mm for the knox. Due to my craziness in the hunt for this coupon I found an interesting email that was posted on AFC. These coupons should not be used for a Kraft product as the coupon is not from Kraft. Most of us are honest people and would not use a coupon in the wrong way. Sorry to be a barer of bad news.
This book is full of fun, crazy gelatin stuff. I purchased it because the cover caught my eye, but the whole thin is about gelatin. http://www.publishamerica.net/product90156.html
