Stephanie and Kay both emailed to let me know that McNeil Pharmaceuticals has issued a recall of several meds (Tylenol, St Joseph, Motrin). Many of these are items that are listedin the Green Advantage Buy flyer that many of us have purchased over the past few weeks. You can go HERE to see the specific items (including affected lot numbers). Not all lots/products are included in this recall–but I thought I would pass the info on to you all just in case!
Thanks a bunch Stephanie & Kay!
UPDATE: Several of you have emailed me asking what to do if you have items that are indeed on the recall list. Sherrie was kind enough to post what she was told when she called the 800 #–“I was told that I can either mail the boxes of meds back to them for a cash refund or I can dispose of them myself and request a free product coupon for each box that I verify the lot number with them.” –thanks Sherrie!
Claire over at Smorgasbord of Savings forwarded me the 800 number –you can call 1-888-222-6036 for instructions on getting a refund or replacement
Wow, three of the six Tylenol Rapid Release that I have left in my stockpile and one that I had (still sealed) in my medicine cabinet were on the recall list. Thank you so much for posting this information, I wouldn’t have known otherwise.
be sure to check your stock piles!!!I found several bottles that I bought during the coupon sales at publix using publix advantage coupons stacked with manuf. coupons that had the listed lot #’s!
What are we supposed to do with the recalled bottles?
I searched the McNeil website for information about returning the recalled product, but could not find specific information. I have emailed them and will post when I receive a response.
I called the number, and was told that I can either mail the boxes of meds back to them for a cash refund or I can dispose of them myself and request a free product coupon for each box that I verify the lot number with them. I went that route, just dumped 4 bottles.
Thank you so much for this information. I would not have known otherwise. I only had one bottle with a recalled lot number but it’s still good to know. I called the number and also went the route of disposing on my own and having a replacement coupon sent to me. I love this website and the reasons why just keep adding up. Thanks again!
Whew! Just checked the list and the Children’s Liquid Tylenol wasn’t on there. I bought that a few weeks ago. Glad it’s safe!
I have always taken my recalled items, that were purchased at Publix, back to Publix. They have always given me a full refund.
I totally agree. That is precisely how I see it. Cheers!
