I want to thank you all for the feedback you have given me about the spreadsheet. I have fixed a few bugs, made a couple of changes based on comments from you guys and will continue to try to make improvements!! I will see if I can get a column to track savings added–that will not happen this week as I need a break from it for a day or two 🙂
For those that have asked about making the list print only those items that you want to purchase…well I may have to get help on that one! I believe to maintain the price lookup and calculation function of the spreadsheet it will have to remain intact. If I were to make it a checklist it would just turn into a list–the spreadsheet functions would not work. I am not positive about that so I will see if I can get some help from someone with more IT knowledge 🙂 For those who wish to reduce the ink usage—once you click print you can change the print quality to draft and you will dramatically reduce ink and print time!
I will add a button to the left sidebar for easy access to the spreadsheet! I will probably have it ready the day after the ad is posted. I will add it to the Super Deals Post and include a link to the instructions (just in case).
Keep your ideas and comments coming–I rely on you guys to help me out! Thanks so much!!
Thanks for all your hard work, this looks great. Is there a way we can save what we have entered and come back to it when more coupon match ups are done?
That is so cool! I played around with it a little, and it seems amazing! I can’t wait to use it “for real” tomorrow when I make my list for my Friday trip. THANKS!!!!
Just did my list and it looks great….i have a question… is there a way to add the total on the bottom of the prices before coupons? so i know, this is what i would’ve paid if i didn’t have the coupons…know what i mean?
Thanks again for doing this
Looks like for a trip of $55 i will pay $24.20 = tax 33 items( if i did it right) = NICE
Check out southernsavers.com. She does a great job with the way she lets you make lists. It doesn’t have to be so complicated. Maybe it could help you make yours
I just used your spreadsheet “for real” today! It’s great! THANKS!
I also was able to copy it and paste it in a Word document and delete the lines I didn’t use so my list is short and no frills!
Here’s what I did:
1) I filled it out on-line (and took note of my total at the bottom – pretty good!)
2) I selected all of it
3) I had to go back to the top where it says “Your weekly shopping list…” to right click it and choose “copy” (I tried it other places, but it kept deselecting when I clicked anywhere else.)
5) I opened a Word document
6) I made the page setup landscape on 8.5X 14 paper (legal)
7) I right clicked and pasted it in the document
8) All of the choices were still listed, so I don’t know if you could do this before you ever fill any of it out or not. (I’m kind of in a hurry so I didn’t try other options – but it seemed like it may work!)
9) It was very long, but then I selected small sections at a time and under the “table” tab, I selected “delete” then “rows” and it took off all those unnecessary sections and rows. (Small sections at a time is the key!) I also removed some of the columns by choosing “column” rather than “row” to delete. Now it is narrow enough to print on letter-size paper.
10) Now I have a great little list to take to the store.
My Total was not at the bottom, but I didn’t want to try it again right now because I know about what it was… maybe next time!
**This could be a great way to save your list and work on it later!
Hope this will help some others!
Melinda
I used the spreadsheet for my shopping trip today and I am proud to say that I spent $47.77 for $142.67 worth of groceries!! The only thing I found was the Weight Watchers frozen items where a higher price in my store than on the spreadsheet and I was running out of room for my BOGO’s 😀
Love the website and the spreadsheet is AWESOME! Thanks for all of your help in making a new budget for our family of 6! With all of the helpful hints, I am hoping to shoot for $75 a week for our grocery budget, down from $125. AMAZING!
Thank You!!! This is just what I need to organize my lists!!! Awesome!!!!
can you add an “essentials” category to the list?? Thanks!
