Several of you have emailed me asking about Swagbucks so my buddy Kai over at Smart Couponing was kind enough to do a write up AND she said I could share it with you guys!! I have told you all in the past that the gift cards I earned via Swagbucks was one of the primary ways I paid for Christmas!! It is a super easy program–basically you get points for searching!! You then turn in those points for prizes (like Amazon gift cards)!! Kai is going to fill you in on how you can earn more points (I will be honest– I leaned a few things that I didn’t know!!)
After registering with Swagbucks and roaming around endlessly at their site, now what? There’s SwagBucks, Swag Codes, Swagstakes and even SwagBots, yes it could be confusing, so today I want to share with you 10 easy ways to get you more Swag Bucks. By the way, please read the Swagbucks FAQs if you don’t have a clue what I am talking about!!
10 Ways to Earn More Swagbucks:
1. KEEP SEARCHING
Ok Ok..we all know this one already !! But again one simple and sincere search will do the trick. I notice that I usually win 1 or 2 Swag Bucks in the morning right after 2-4 searches, then I’ll get another 1-2 Swag Bucks in the afternoon, and sometimes even in the evening too. And if I switch to a different computer, occasionally it gives me another Swag Bucks after couple searches. I even search hotmail and gmail when I need to check my email, even though I can simply type in the address, believe it or not, they do earn me more swag bucks. Keep in mind though that the chances of winning Swag Bucks for keywords searched does not depend on the quantity of searches made.
2. SET SWAGBUCKS AS HOME PAGE
When I first signed up with Swagbucks, I always forgot to use it, I didn’t start earning much Swag Bucks until I set it up as my Home Page, this way you will always remember to do your search there.
3. DOWNLOAD THE SWAG BUCKS TOOLBAR
You’ll get exclusive messages and Swag Codes from The Swag Guy (TSG) on the toolbar. Not long ago TSG gave out 1 Swag Code per day for an entire month (I think it was back in Sept 2009), and that means 30 extra Swag Bucks in a month. The toolbar also make it easier to do a quick search here and there.
4. FOLLOW THEM
Follow them on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. They very often send out special swag codes through these sites.
5. SIGN UP FOR THE SWAGBUCKS NEWSLETTER
There’s usually an extra Swag Code in the newsletter, so make sure you sign up for it.
6. GO THROUGH THE SPECIAL OFFER SECTION
Go to the Special Offer Section from the main page, and click on the “No Obligation Offers” on the right, then just keep clicking through the “Skip” or “No Thanks” button on each offer (3-5 offers) and at the end you’ll get an extra Swag Code. They update these offers once or twice a month, so you can go back again in several weeks to score another FREE Code.
7. CLICK ON THEIR ADS
Swagbucks is able to give out all these FREE prizes because they also make money off of advertisement, and I find out that sometimes I get higher value swagbucks simply from clicking on their ads.
8. COME UP WITH A CREATIVE POLL IDEA
The folks at Swagbucks love running polls, so if you have a creative poll idea, send it to them at pollideas@swagbucks.com, and if they run your poll, you’ will get 10 Swag Bucks for the effort.
9. SHOP!
Yes SHOP! literally. You get rewarded with Swag Bucks when you shop through their site, they have a wide variety of different retailers like Macys, Target, Apple, Avon, iTunes, you name it they have it. You get $1 Swag Buck for every $5 you spend. Happy Shopping!
10. REFER A FRIEND
Last but not least, invite a friend to join the hunt and get Swag Bucks for passing the word on to others. When you refer a friend to Swagbucks, you get rewarded with swag bucks as well, my swagbucks started increasing much more when I began signing up people for Swagbucks, and looks like my goal to have all my 2010 Christmas gift paid by Swag Bucks is getting more and more achievable.

I like getting the swagbucks for my searches but I hate the sponsored links results. I usually have to end up searching again in google to get what I am looking for since the sponsored links rarely return what I need and google always does.
But I’ve accumulated a few $5 Amazon GCs so I end up keeping swagbucks and search there once or twice a day just to earn the rewards (followed usually by google to get what I really was searching for).
usually there are 3-4 sponsored links at top…the fourth is usually the exact same as what google pops up since the search engine is powered by google. so try for the fourth one first!
Also, the swagcode at the end of the special offers is updated EVERY thursday evening, not once a month so you can get at least 4 a month that way!
I would’ve put refer friends at the top — I have 660 swagbucks just from referring friends — that is the easiest and quickest way to earn swagbucks since you earn 1 swagbuck for every swagbuck they earn up to 100. You log in from one day to the next and have a ton more swagbucks and you didn’t even do anything — they are from your friends searches!
I’m up to $100 in target giftcards after just 2 months! Go Swagbucks 🙂
Special offers are great big earners too but sometimes you have to put in a credit card and remember to cancel the offer in time.

Did you know that if you print and use coupons from there site you will earn 10 sb for every coupon redeemed. It takes a while to show up about 8 or so weeks.
