I have to make a quick run to Publix so I decided to do a quick scan of coupons before I leave. I am so glad I did as I just need to grab some milk and bread and now have a great deal!!
I found a coupon for $.55/1 Sara Lee Soft and Smooth Bread HERE on RedPlum…so here is my plan:
Buy Sara Lee Bread $1.99
Buy Gallon Of Milk $$2.28
Buy 1/2 gal of Chocolate Milk approx $1.99
Use $.55/1 Sara Lee
Use $1 off milk wyb Sara Lee
Use FREE choc milk wyb gallon of milk
Pay $2.72 OOP –I love when I stumble across coupons that make for a great deal on the things I NEED!!
I know this is not the deal of the century but I had intended just to jump in the car and go grab some milk and bread. Instead I took 2 minutes gathered my coupons and now will save almost a $1 for my efforts! I’d say that is a pretty good rate of return– .82¢ for 2 minutes of work (that is equivalent to making $25 per hour!!) Now who says coupons are a waste of time??

I had planned to this exact same thing this week…but, where’s the free chocolate milk coupon? I don’t have that one…

Sara Lee at my store has gone up to $2.89 a loaf. Also, when I printed the milk coupons it was buy 2 gallons to get the 1/2 gallon free.
This was the 2nd one (after the free milk wyb $100)

If you are in the Tampa Bay area (I think most of Central FL) the best deal for milk is CVS. They sell the TG Lee brand for $3.19 (currently) and there is a $1/1 q on the TG Lee website. The expiration date on the q is 12/31/2010 so I always make sure to request it when I make trades. Been getting this deal for the past year with ECB’s!
My milk is also 3.19 and the Sara Lee tearpad is at my Publix! I grabbed a bunch from the tearpad, but there is always one taped to the bread, also.
