Thanks Michelle! I have no idea how you get including on their mailing list. I receive a newspaper-like flier every tuesday (via mail) that has several upcoming BOGO’s. About once a month it will have a $5 off coupon in it. I live in Tampa so I can only speak for my area! I’ve never seen the papers in Publix itself either!

Just a FYI, your site is the best. I used to shop a total of about 4 stores every week, trying to utilize all of my coupons and stay under budget.. but now, I don’t have to… and I DO LOVE PUBLIX. What’s not to love? I have sucessfully taken my family’s grocery shopping from $130 a week to under $50 each week and it feels awesome. Thank you so much!!

Anyone have a problem with using this coupon before all other coupons? My total is often over $50 when everything is first rung up, and I usually put the $5 off Q on top so that it can be used before all my other Q’s which, when used, bring my total under $50. Last time I tried this, the cashier set it aside and said he had to wait until all other Q’s were used and then if my total was still over $50 then I could use it. I asked for a manager as the Q does not state that it is only ok to use after all Q’s and they “let” me do it this one time, but “weren’t supposed to”. Was I wrong? Anyone else have this problem? I’m in the Tampa area.

I am in Orlando and I have never had this problem. They do always put it aside and do it last (because it does not scan, they have to punch in by hand), but the total by then is almost always under $50 and they still put it in. I sure hope that this is not something new they are starting to implement.
Kerri – I am also in Tampa and I never have a problem with them taking a $/$$ before all coupons. One time a cashier questioned it and I had him call over the manager and she set him straight. What store in Tampa did you run into this problem at?
Michelle-thank you so much for showing me how to save money on groceries. I never knew that shopping for food can be so much fun! Its like a savanger hunt- My children and husband think I have lost my mind:) I cut coupons all the time- I have saved over 600+ dollars in 2 months which is a huge savings.I have always admired women who took time to cut coupons. Hey even our dogs are reaping the benefits of my savings:)I have been able to buy them treats that I normally would not of done simply due to the cost. I never shopped at publix unless it was for a quick gallon of Milk or something I really needed. I always shopped at Walmart as I thought it was the best price. I am kicking myself every day. Not only did I loose out on prices. I would allow myself to get so frustrated with lack of customer service, shelves not being stocked up the list just goes on and on. I would love to win the coupons, however I am already a winner as I have completely changed my buying habits. Don’t buy it unless I have a coupon or its a bogo 🙂 Thanks again for everything. Debbie
Kerri- I work for Publix and that is crap that you have to spend $50 after all the other coupons. We get our money back on manufacturer coupons so we’re not out anything. If you continue having problems ask for the store manager because they should not be treating you like that.

Kerri I have the same problem, I’m in Brandon and they always tell me it has to be AFTER all coupons. I’m going to a different store tomorrow and will try it there!
My stores have always told me that the pre-tax total has to be $50, NOT the total after coupons. If that were the case it would be stated right on the coupon and it’s not. I would definitely speak to a manager and/or go to a different store if you continue to have issues.

I’m in Pensacola and the manager here says they just implimented that is has to be after all coupons too, and there was no use trying to explain to her that is just there new policy is what I was told!
I have another question since I’m going to a different Publix tomorrow. I got a $10/$50 coupon from Winn-Dixie, can I use that and the Publix $10/$50 coupon? I’ve never used any of the $/$ coupons since I was told at my usual Publix that it can’t be done unless the total after coupon was that amount or more. Thanks 🙂
@ Ileana – You can only use them both together if your grocery total is $100 or more. They treat the WD coupon as if it were one of their own, so you can’t use both together on just $50.
@Heather – Fair enough if the NEW $/$$ coupons state that, but if the old ones don’t have that wording then the terms/conditions don’t exist and you can’t just make them up on the spot. I’d definitely call corporate about this!
