I am in Nashville and we don’t have the barilla pasta from 3/7 SS. Is there another week I could look for it?
Woo Hoo! bogo 8 oclock coffee..now if I could get my hands on some more $2 IP’s…:-(
The $1/2 Kellogg’s FLIP should also work for super cheap cereal. 🙂
I just grabbed a bunch of $1 off Kelloggs cereal peelies yesterday. They were stuck on some of the cereal boxes. better go back and get some more before they are gone for the sale!
If your store accepts Target as a competitor, and if the Soft Scrub Total is included in the 2/$5 sale, you can use this Target IP for $1 off (http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/nat_coupons.jsp?coupon_2=show&x=41&y=17) with the $1.50 MQ from 03-07-10 RP to get it for free!
FYI, confirmed with purchase tonight that this product is included at $2.50, so it is free with both coupons!
In reference to the taking the peelies off cereal boxes. The way I read it is that someone is just taking them without actually purchasing the box of cereal. I resent when someone takes my deal by removing a peelie. Sorry if I misunderstood and the person actually purchased the correct number of boxes for the peelies they had.
how do you get the $1 off 1low fat granola coupon (kellog’s) ???went to site- couldnot find

I agree! Shame on those that are greedy that way!
I was very upset last week when I purchased the Duke’s mayo. I noticed that there had been a peelie on top that someone had removed. Not fair. I bought it, I should be able to benefit from it.
Anyway, does anyone know if the Fairhope Publix ever doubles coupons?
Re: peelies. Let’s give her the benefit of the doubt. Surely she isn’t taking peelies from products she isn’t buying. Yea, it’s annoying when people do that, yeah it’s greedy when people do that…But it is also stealing. Surely no one would blatantly brag about stealing. If it wasn’t stealing, then why not just tear the proof of purchase off of containers or riffle through the cereals to get the free prize from the box? If the person is indeed, taking peelies from packages without purchasing them, maybe they didn’t look at it this way and they will stop doing it now. Maybe it was just an honest mistake.
Wow! Quite the reaction! I DID purchase the Kelloggs cereal but I did tear one off of another box because one of the boxes for one of the flavors I bought was missing the peelie (peeled of by someone else) and the clerk was right there and told me to take a peelie off another box. I did see this week that there were some $1 “stock up and save” brownie coupons on Cheerio boxes. When I bought my brownies last week, the peelies were actually on the brownie boxes.
Coupon etiquette: OK I am going to post 3 different proposed etiquette guidelines with rationales. One for Peelers, blinkers, and Publix flyers.
Peelers: perhaps the most complicated because they are attached to a box but do not hurt the box if removed. Ok For peelers it is ok to use 5 peelers as long as you buy 5 items that same day. For example, you like a different flavor and that peelie was missing. example 2: and this is debatable. the small tgif box it has a peeler for the larger box. the chances of a person buying the smaller box going home and returning to buy the bigger box is small. so in this case I would say ok. SO to recap peelers i feel if you peel X coupons than you must purchase x products that day. Hoarding would be taking 5 extra home for later use. since the coupon is attached to a box there is a purchase required implied by the manufature who could care less what flavor you get. But technically this is not stealing beacause legaly i dont think unused coupons have a legal value and the product is not destroyed. you would have to take something with a legal value or destroy a box to be criminal or civily liable. Most coupons say no cash value.
Blinkers: legally you could sit there and take every single coupon. but i proposed that you not take more than you will actually use before the offer expires, for example. if the blinker expires in 3 weeks and you actually get 2 box a week, ok take 6. but if the offer expires in 3 days and you take 24 then you just wating them. If you cant use them all and the offer is about to expire but them back! sue they get a little frozed but still work!
Publix flyers: Same ad the blinkers. if your going to use at least one coupon out of a flyer i dont see why you can use it.
just take what your going to use. Once when Gatorage was BOGO where was a 55 cents of coupon. i took 10 flyrs home and cut out the just the gatorade coupon and used all ten the next time i shoped and i put the flyers back figuring the chances of the next person needing that particular coupon was low. SO the rule here is take what you need and try no to waste.
If there are lots of peelies and they don’t say that it is only good for THAT particular item, I take off a couple here and there. I see these as blinkies. I take as many as I would use in the future of the blinkies so why not the peelies. BUT I also leave a lot of coupons I would not use for others. If in your heart, it feels wrong, you should not do it. I also feel like if you don’t abuse it and it does not say you shouldn’t take it then it’s OK. There is no coupon police out there to get you. You just have to police yourself.
I am very happy that people are stading up for what is right! I am glad I am not the only one upset by this. I had purposely stayed away from reading comments on this blog because I simply couldn’t tolerate people bragging and encouranging dishonest activities. Unfortunately, this is not the first time that someone brags about stealing peelies from boxes on this site. A few weeks back, a woman was braging about how she takes peelies from packages at Target and other stores to later sell them on ebay. Further implying to readers that if we wanted those stolen peelies to use them for the current BOGO sell we could just buy them from her at ebay. I sent an e-mail to Michelle and reported this matter and I truly hope she takes a stand against this type of behavior. In the meantime, please Don’t steal or encourage others to steal.
DONT be a Peeler Stealer!! or a Peelie Sneekie! LOL
Yes I agreed to a couple of exceptions for peelers.
1. to replace a peeler that fell of a different flavor or the different flavor
never had one.
2. the peelie is for a diferent item than the one its on.
3.but dont go taking of 5 peelies that are $1 off that item so you can come back later!
DONT be a Peeler Stealer!! or a Peelie Sneekie!
also dont be scared to put peelie back. TGIF have like 3 different coupons in the peelie. if your not going to use the other 2
toss them in the freezer. Cold coupons scan!
MAria: slow down, trust me on this one,
hording coupons even peelers may be immoral but it is not “LEGALY” a theft.
Doesnt mean you should do it. just saying, that legaly if you stole a 75 cent pack of gum you can be handcuffed and taken away. if you take coupons even peelers they have no cash value.
thats why i came up with some proposed etiquettes for peelers.
maybe make little stickers that say,
“sorry for being a peelie sneekie but
i purchased the larger size box with the peelie
:)” LOL
or maybe just use your index finger to remove
the remaining glue so all evidence of a prior peeler is erased! 😉
PEELIE DATING:
remove all the peeler coupons of an item, every single one. go to publix all dressed up, you know, fresh hair cut and cologne, make sure you look really spiffy. wait until you see an atractive mate pick up the item in question,
and then just say, “hey i just happened to have a coupon that i cant use for that item”. BAM if you hit it off and make a date, then
you must put the rest of the unused peelies back.
If you put the unused peelies back before you leave the store its not stealing. 😉
Joe, just because it’s not “legally” a theft, doesn’t mean that it’s not stealing on a moral and ethical level. The peelies are attached to a product as incentive to buy that product, and the person who buys that product is the intended recipient. Don’t mean to beat up on anyone, but this kind of behavior gives couponers a bad name and cheats someone of the good deals we all want to find. Wrong is wrong, regardless of the legal guidlines.
For the kens dressing, i used the bogo coupons from this last sundays paper and got 4 bottles for free!
I used to find it frustrating to find an item that once had a peelie on it but was taken until I ran into the “coupon man” at my Publix. He was actually with a distributor and was attaching all of those peelies on the boxes. He gave me 6 of every coupon he had in his magic bag and told me that he encourages people to grab a coupon or 2 so long as you will definately purchase the product before the coupon expires. He said they attach them to attract a purchase weather immediate or future. I never myself hord peelies but if I see one on a product I buy EVERY TIME it goes on sale I will take 2. I no longer feel bad because my “coupon man” told me it was ok and intended. I know it gets frustrating and I too miss out on peelies that are gone but that is all part of the coupon game in my book. As far as stealing goes I think that is taking it a bit far.
Almond Accents are BOGO and I found a 1$/2 tear pad at the Fairhope AL store. Anyone else find a coupon for the Almond Accents?
I am on the fence about a lot of the coupon stealing/taking/using issues…but I will add that more than once, the “sample people” that are from the contracted sample companies said that when they leave at the end of the day, they are instructed to “DESTROY” all the coupons they have out with the samples so they want the customers to not only listen to their shpeal about the product…BUT take coupons because they have to throw them away…That’s how I got OODLES of coupons this past summer for Yo Plus. BUT I also spread the love and give them to friends of leave them to “pay it forward” to another shopper.
coupons do have cash value. It isn’t much, usually 1 20th of a cent. Barcodes and Box-tops for education have no cash value. Is it ok to tear these off of boxes you aren’t buying? It doesn’t destroy the box in most cases, the food inside is still fresh. Maybe I have strong ethical standards, but I don’t see a gray area here. Maybe if you want a different flavor…that’s a little gray. If your coupon man is giving you handfuls of peelies, there is nothing wrong with that. Just because something isn’t illegal doesn’t mean it’s right.
hahahaha you guys need a life, coupon stealing come on!! Thats dumb whats the difference between taking it off and using it for a different flavor than taking it off and using it for a future purchase. If you are not using it for the box that the peelie is on it is the same exact thing. I think some of you folks are a wee bit uptight. Again thanks for the laugh. And Michelle thanks for your hard work really enjoyed getting the ad early.
When I go to the site for the Ragu coupon, it’s only showing 3 coupons and Ragu is not one of them. Have they reached their print limit?
this was my first time to this site…. this is a place for deals, not soapboxes. High morals (right!?!?), it’s ok to harm the work of a site someone has worked hard to set up for people to share great deals.
its a sight about coupons so i guess talking about coupon morals is an apropriate forum. People want the best deal in this economy but certainly don’t want to break any rules or laws. I am going to email the publix corporate office on this issue and i will share the results. It is very important. if the store owner has a policy then i feel eveyone should follow it. I let you guys know.
