Many of you may have seen or received links to a set of free Doritos coupons by now. These coupons are NOT legitimate coupons and you should not use them!
My buddy Lynne over at Workin the Deals emailed Frito Lay about the coupons and received a response letting her know that the coupons were not created, authorized or distributed by Frito-Lay.
If you guys are ever worried that a coupon may be too good to be true you can start by visiting the CIC’s website to see their list of current counterfeit coupons. Use your best judgement when it comes to coupons that are forwarded to you via email. If the coupon looks like a copy–it probably is! High value coupons or coupons for FREE items are rarely printable! Check the link of the coupon to see if it is being hosted by the company–if it does not originate from the company then it is likely a fraud!!
Being an honest couponer helps ensure that stores remain coupon friendly. It is our responsibility to make sure that we use coupons correctly!
Thanks for the update Lynne!
awwwww nuts. I should have known they were too good to be true. I HAVE used some of them. <> i’ll destroy the rest.
I saw them on EBAY! I was actually watching them and hoping to snag a few! Now I know to stay away! Thanks…
I haven’t seen any of them yet… but how odd is it to actually find a coupon for Doritos!?
