My buddies at the Publix in Greenville are having a campaign to help raise money for one of the best organizations that I can think of–The March of Dimes!!
I am pretty sure most of you are aware of the wonderful work done each year by The March of Dimes. Here is a little refresher for any of you who may not be aware of all they do:
The mission of The March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies through the prevention of birth defects, prematurity and infant mortality. The March of Dimes carries out this mission through programs of research, community services, education and advocacy. Over 580,000 babies a year in the U.S. are born too small or too soon. Your gift will support March of Dimes research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And it will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.
The March of Dimes spends 93% of every dollar raised in March for Babies to support research and programs that help babies begin healthy lives.
I am so happy to help out and would love if you all would consider contributing to this VERY worthwhile cause!! If just a fraction of my readers were to donate $5 each –we would have the $5000 goal met in one day!! If you are able to give please click the banner to make a donation. If you are able to donate please put I Heart Publix in parenthesis when completing your submission. Jen wants to be able to track the donations and I have a special surprise planned as well 🙂
I know money is tight for so many but this is a cause that I feel is definitely worth a contribution!! I am going to stick the banner in the sidebar once this post is off the front page.
Thanks so much everyone!!
I gave birth to a 1 lb. 9 oz. baby boy who was only 25 weeks gestation. He is now 9 years old and an amazing baseball player who makes straight A’s. Thanks to the March of Dimes research, wonderful doctors, and God – I have a miracle!
This is one of my favorite charities to give to because I have friends who have benefited from their work.
Julie – that is amazing! Your family is truly blessed!
@Michelle – I put old.iheartpublix.com in the Company Name field.
How is the donation paid for?? Is it Paypal friendly for a direct payment???
I can’t support the March of Dimes. They promote abortion. Google it.
In 1973-74, March Of Dimes gave $9,420 for fetal brain metabolism studies in Helsinki on living, human babies aborted by hysterotomy (and still attached by the umbilical cord to the mother) who were then decapitated and their heads mounted on perfusion equipment. Arthur A. Galloway, MOD Vice President for Development, defended this research, saying it was “done legally and ethically” under Finnish law; that “the investigators did not participate in the decision to terminate pregnancy;” and “they were concerned with the ethics of discarding such fetal tissue without seeking to find ways to improve the life and health of live born premature infants.”
