For the past few weeks, I have not shopped very much and have barely spent any money…well– I totally made up for it this week! Some of you may be shocked by my total but I am more than pleased with what I brought home this week!!
I am so happy that I have restocked my freezer with meat. I was able to score 21 pounds of turkey and over 21 lbs of chicken!! I also bit the bullet and bought several things that we needed/wanted but were not a great deal! The funny thing is that those items represent almost a quarter of my spending (sugar, coke, pancakes) I spent more on those items then I spent for 21 pounds of turkey!!
This week I spent $112.23 for over $310 worth of products! That means I saved 64% this week and have a ton of meat to show for my efforts 🙂
Here is what I brought home for $112.23

How did you do this week. Leave a comment of to your weekly totals.
$63 for $169!!! Got two bottles of free Shout with overage!
The “Bag Girl” saw all of my coupons and told me that I should check out old.iheartpublix.com. Too funny, since I already do. She works @ Publix and also uses your site! There was a new guy training how to bag and he was TOTALLY impressed.
Great job shopping this week.
Mark
Great shopping week, next week should be even better w/$0.33cent organic frozen veggies! Thanks for all you do for us!
My most recent trip to Publix for my “big” grocery trip was spending $94.20 and saving $123.48. $83.06 in vendor coupons (alot of free and buy something get something else free items), $23.70 in store coupons, and $17.72 in special price savings (like sale items).
Spent $94.20 on $217.68 worth of groceries!!
$8 for $108 of groceries. Cashier said that I was committing coupon fraud for using $3 off coupons on the .99 Schick razors I bought (coupon said “ANY package”). She didn’t want to allow the $5 off $30 Winn Dixie since I didn’t “buy” $30 of groceries. Complained that I was making money by stacking coupons on Bayer and Midol (she didn’t mention or even try to adjust the coupons down, just complained about giving me money). When she said I was committing coupon fraud, I asked for the Manager. She straightened the girl out about their coupon policies, apologized several times for the girl, and was very nice. The girl, however, never apologized. Will I go back to THAT Publix?? It’s convenient, it’s newer than others around. Don’t know if it will be easier to shop there now since the girl has learned what their policies are or if it’s going to be a headache. Anybody been through this before? All I can say is that this was very upsetting to me. The only funny thing is that I gave them 34 coupons and somehow in all the mess they deducted 37 coupons. My total should have been $13 not $8, but I didn’t figure that out til i got home and no way am I going to bring money back to them!
Actually, if you’re willing to go through the inconvenience, trying to return the money to customer service(especially when that same manager is working)would help them to look even more favorable towards you in the future. In other words, when they see your honesty now, they will be more likely to trust you in the future and not question your coupons. Of course I’m not in any way advocating showing honesty now so that you can be misuse coupons in the future. I just mean that by showing honesty now, they might leave you alone in the future so you can continue to use the coupons in the correct manner as you had been doing. If you did this, I wouldn’t be surprised if they just told you to keep the money (the same thing happened to me at WAGS before when I was accidentally not charged for a product I was purchasing and I was told to just keep).
Or the other thing you could do (if you feel guilty of the accidental overage), is on your next shopping trip, not use coupons until you make up that $5 difference and then continue with your shopping. I’ve done that as well when I didn’t want to go through the inconvenience of going to customer service. That method means only God and I know that I’m trying to make the situation right by giving the store back the money.
As for going back to that Publix. At least now you know that manager was coupon friendly and willing to correct the cashiers – again, something that might help you in the future.
I spent $21 for $97 worth of groceries…the older couple in line behind was standing there cheering me on. They were too cute, made for a fun shopping day.
this is my best week ever…Spent $38 saved 89…I shopped with 3 kiddos too…very stressful as i always have my hubby to help, but he has been working alot.i love this site..thanks so much for all u do,it saves us a ton of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven’t shopped this week yet, but last week I did the best ever on a weekly trip. I spent $81 (includes $4 in tax) on $290 worth of groceries (72%). I can usually get high percentages at CVS and WAGS but rarely Publix since that is where I do my actual shopping and not going there for the deals. Thank you for this site!! I keep it up on my computer all day, long every day.
I made 2 shopping trips this week, both at Publix:
Spent $10.80 for $171.22 worth, saved $160.42 = 94%
Spent $2.44 for $37.84 worth, saved $35.40 = 94%
(Those .25 cent pizzas were just too good of a deal to pass up!)
Not my best week.. simply cos DH was in hospital for 2 weeks, so missed out on 4/18 Sunday paper and levels of food was really low.. but I did get $147.72 of groceries for 73.92 JUST UNDER 50% grrrr!!
at the same time on a seperate transaction I purchased my DD wipes using the $5 off $20 coupon I found in the change of address envelope I got..hee and $1.50 coupons from the latest coupon booklets.
My best transaction.
4 x $5.99 (huggies refillable wipes = $23.96
minus $5 off $20 and three $1.50 off huggies wipes (tried to use 4 but they wouldnt let me..said too many coupons) I paid $3.62 for the pack of refillable huggy wipes.. I should be set for a few months now.. whhoohoo
Thank you for the updates.. with the site, and rebate reminders your helping me lottts
ps.. DH will be starting a new job in a suntrust..in PUBLIX…LOL LOL LOL
New to couponing but had BY FAR my best week ever (and probably the best I’ll ever have). Total for three trips (two for deals and the third for more deals plus my regular groceries):
Spend: $9.32
Saved: $1325.93 (nope, not a typo)
I have the best Publix ever! As a vegan/vegetarian family, the Earth Day specials have been amazing! My trip tonight (Spent $1.06, Saved $839.97) was the first time overage on deals has paid for my weekly groceries (which always include $50 to $75 in produce – hard to find Q’s for!)
Sent goody bags home with my mom and my neighbor and already have 6 bags packed for the food pantry and Ronald McDonald House. In the past, it’s taken me months to accomplish that! Plus, I have two overfull pantries and many staples that will last me through the end of the year!
Thanks for all you do in helping us save! 🙂
Jessica
I did probably my best this week, getting the litter alone made me very happy.
Spent $56.08 for $207 worth of groceries! Unfortunately there were no toaster strudels 🙁 I’ll go to my other Publix tomorrow, they are always stocked but not the best in general coupon policy.
did great today, spent 32.00 for 150.00 worth
