Each week I think that things are going to slow down and I am going to actually get caught up– but I think that is a dream!! We had so much going on this week that I was COMPLETELY off my schedule!! I did not do my shopping on Monday like I usually do since I did not have my list ready…well Wednesday came along and I still had not made a list so I did something that I usually would not do–I shopped without my spreadsheet!!
This was Jake’s last week of school which meant one day was his school program and another day was his end of the year party! So I had to get the party stuff ready, teacher gifts, contend with people working here in the house, and still take the boys to all their functions…so something had to give! This week it was more important just to get everything done! The boys have SoccerTots on Wednesday mornings so while they played I did what I used to do before couponing–I grabbed a scrap of paper from my purse and wrote down what I needed to buy this week!!
One good thing about running this site is that I kinda always know what the best deals are at Publix 🙂 Typing up all the deals comes in handy when it is time to make a list!! Luckily I had my coupon binder in the car so I was able to use a few coupons. Overall I think I did pretty good for a spur of the moment list. I did go over budget but you know every once in a while that is A-OK!! It is a good reminder how planning can really be an effective tool to saving money!!
This week I spent $57.05 for $120.64 worth of groceries! That means I saved 53% this week! I think this is a good indication of what you can save by buying what is on sale and using a few coupons. I am already preparing for next week and I think I should be back on track 🙂

Thanks to this awesome site, I kicked back and had a sparse shopping month and relied on my stockpile. I’ve been a little burnt out on couponing so in May so I was able to get by on around $100 for the month, including the shopping I’ll do later today, just buying necessities and select deals.
