I love that so many of you suggested that the best giveaway you could think of is to give something to someone else. I love to hear of unselfish acts and am a true believer that often it is better to give than receive…so the winner of this giveaway will get a $25 Publix gift card to give away!
To enter just comment who you would give your gift card to and why. Please comment on this post! Comments left on Facebook will not be accepted!
I will choose a random winner on 8/8 around 11pm.
If I won I would give this Publix gift card to my friend Carlos and his girlfriend who are about to have a baby, and are struggling financially right now.
I would give mine to my mom! She is the best and can always use extra grocery money!
What a wonderful giveaway, I know exactly who I would give it to!!!
I would give away the $25 gift card to my cousin and her fiance, who are expecting a baby any day now. She loves shopping at Publix, but with her fiance out of a job, shopping is a little more difficult and she’s trying to learn all of the great ways to coupon and save money. I know they will be great parents and am so excited to have a new little baby cousin so soon!!! In their difficult time, I know a gift card would be greatly appreciated.
I would give it to my mom, my dad has cancer and it would help them out with their grocery budget.
I’d give it to my neighbor. She and her husband have 3 children of their own, and her sister and 3 children just moved in with them. Thanks so much!!
I would give the card to a needy lady at my church.
I think I would give it to a family at church who is struggling.
I would give it to my parents. My dad lost his job and they cannot afford to buy anything, even food. I give my mom some of my food that I have stockpiled but would love to go with her to the store and let her use all of my coupons for that week so she could get a lot of food that could last her a while. Thanks!
I would give it my mother n law. She is on a fixed income and has medical conditions so money is tight.
I would give it to a friend. This friend has had money problems as well as other bad times. This gift would make this person feel so good.Right now this person feel’s like nothing good ever happens. This is a good person who needs
something good to happen. in fact I told my husband just today. If we had money to give away we would give it to this person.
i would give to my husbands friend who is really struggling right now to make ends meet, hes a diabetic and doesnt have $ to buy much food so when he wakes up in the middle of the night with he sugar bottomed out he frantic to find something to bring it back up. this would be a huge help its just him (hes got baby mama drama)
My mom and dad are two of the most unselfish people I know. My mom was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 1993. My dad stayed by her side day and night for 3 to 4 weeks in the hospital followed by a year of chemo. In june of 2006 my grandfather pasted away leaving my grandmother alone. My grandmother had a stroke that weakened her right side in 2001, fell and broke her hip in 2005, and suffered a fractured pelvis bone from a fall in 2009. Through all this my mom and dad have been there. When my grandfather pasted away in 2006 my parents moved in with my grandmother to help with taking care of her (my mom’s two siblings were supposed to help with a rotation) It quickly became apparent that wasn’t going to happen. My parents have completely left their lives behind to keep my grandmother out of a nursing home. With all that my mom picks my older two up from school, watches them for me when my school schedule doesn’t match theirs and keeps the youngest when she’s too sick for daycare. I’ve seen them give up many things in life to help “part time” and my aunt has treated my mom like a maid and been very rude to all of us. Oh yeah and during all this mom has had two relapses of cancer and chemo.
I would give the gift card to my fav publix cashier. We have gotten to know eachother over the past few months and I know she would flip! She is so awesome in taking my coupons, paitient, accurate and speedy! She quite her corporate m-f 8-5 job so she could stay home and raise her daughter. She works at Publix on nights and weekends to supplement their income. She was excited because she thought she had her house sold and they were going to move but the deal fell through. She is the best, although I was sad to hear she was going to quit when they moved, I was happy for her and her family because she wouldn’t have to keep working. Rachel is the best!
I would give mine to my Aunt. She and her husband are both out of work right now and they have 2 teenage children. I know she would really appreciate it and they are struggling with their bills.
I would give it to my neighbor who has been such a huge help to me over the past 11 months. She loaned a crib, stroller and walker to me for my nephew to use when he visited and now that my nephew lives nearby, she has given me clothes and furniture too!
I would give it to my favorite friend whose husband is a pastor!
I’d give it to the coordinator at the homeless shelter where I volunteer. She sits in on my classes and is still having a hard time with the grocery portion… So I wouldn’t just give it to her… I’d go with her to Publix and help her have a successful trip!
I would give it to my MIL who has just moved to FL and is getting to experience Publix for the first time. I pointed her to your site immediately!
I would give it to my Parents who live in Ocala, FL. They are currently in NJ taking care of my 39 year old sister who was diagnosed with Bone Cancer. They are not “young” anymore, but they drive an hour each way to and from the hospital every day to be by my sisters side. My parents are the kindest people I know.
I would spend the card on my family–they are the most important people in my life. And since I do the grocery shopping and cooking, I would make my husband’s and children’s favorite meal, complete with a yummy dessert. Times have been tough, and we have been eating very cheaply lately. This would be a very nice treat for them!!
I would give the gift card to my sister. She is pregnant with their second child and her husband was just recently laid off from his job.
I would give it to one of my best friends. Due to her and her husband’s health things are tight. They also have very young grandchildren staying with them right now. Since she now has kids to feed I am trying to help her make her money go further at publix. I think a gift card would help her to get started saving money. That way she wouldn’t be hesitant since she only has a little bit of money to learn couponing on.
I would give it to my daughter & fiance since they are expecting a baby the end of Dec. OR my mom – my dad passed away in Sept. so a grocery store gift card will always help her (she doesn’t work)
I would give my gift card to the coupon ministry we are working to start at my church…. we could turn that $25 into alot of groceries and grooming items for the local food pantry 🙂
If I won the $25 gift card, I would give it a friend that just had a baby. The baby was born sick and has been sent to a major hospital that is about 150 miles from where she lives. It would help them buy some food while staying at the hospital since they are planning on being there for about a month.
I’d give it to my Mom, for my Dad’s ensure bill… He hasn’t been able to eat food in 2 years due to Cancer of the throat, and He drinks 6 ensure a day… very very expensive. Thanks 🙂
Instead of giving the card to someone I would do all the shopping using my coupons and then donate all the food to my local food pantry.
My next-door neighbor for always watching my dog! She deserves a special something.
I would give it to my mom,she has been without lights for 8 months now and between me and my sister we have been feeding her.I live about 45 minutes away, but I do what I can for her.We have 6 kids at home ourself,so i can’t run there everyday. She will not move in with anyone and we are trying to get the money up to get her lights back on.This would help alot!
Goodness, Michelle, it’s a good thing you’re choosing the winner for this one randomly, or I don’t know how you would choose! I would give the gift card to a sweet couple in my Sunday School class who just became foster parents and are trying to take care of two little girls right now.
My hubby so he could buy all things he wants to without a coupon. He is a very patient man to wait for his favorites to go on sale…
Wow….I know of so many that could use a $25 gift card to Publix right now!
My first choice would be to give it to a great lady I will call BK. She is a single mom raising 3 kids on a very limited income, but gives so much of herself weekly to build the love of tennis in kids in our community. She gives lessons at a much too low of a rate simply because she wants kids out there moving, getting healthy and loving a sport!
I would give mine to a friend who is having a hard time being out of work!
I would give it to my friend who just got a new baby through foster care! She also has celiac disease, and I think a little extra spending resources would be nice for her!
I would give the gift card to my Sister-In-Law, who is a stay at home mom. She is expecting bundle of joy #2 and my brother was recently let go from his job. I try to help with the kid(s) anyway possible. My nephew’s birthday is coming up in September and I’m hoping to surprise her with a baby shower as well! It would be great to include a gift card from Publix to help them with diapers, which are not covered by WIC. Thanks for the opportunity.
I would give it to my daughter who is 19, living on her own now and going to college and working. She is realizing what it is like to have no money for food, gas or anything fun. She is also realizing how much it costs to live and pay for rent, utilities etc. She is surviving on limited food and would LOVE a gift card to Publix! I, of course, would make her use coupons too to get more money out of the $25!! Thanks!!!
I would give it to my mom who always had to do without while raising us four kids.
I would give it to my sister. She is always there for us.
I’d give it to my grandparents. They are both 90 and still live alone – they’re truly amazing! And they LOVE Publix!
I would give it to my mom she has been through a divorce with my dad whom was married for 20 years, she has no health insurance and is working to save up for health care
I would give my giftcard to my mom. I recently had my gallbladder taken out and she has been helping me care for my 8 month old son while I am still recovering. She has done so much, not only for my child, but around my house as well with no complaints. She’s the best mom in the world!
I would give it to my mom, who is coming from Arkansas to visit this week. She has never been to a Publix, and what better way to shop there than with free money. Money has been pretty tight, and this would be a good chance for her to get something she would like instead of something that she just needs.
I would give the gift card to my mom. I’ve been trying to convince her to start couponing instead of paying full price for items. Just the other day I went to Publix & bought her $60 worth of stuff she uses all the time & only spent $4.28! I think she’s starting to get the hint now but I would love to be able to take her & actually show her how to do it to get her hooked.
I would give it to my best friends mother. She just sold everything she owns, moved here and living in a rented room. She has very large medical bills and unable to keep up with the hight costs today. She is learning to coupon but has no storage space in her rented room, so lives deal to deal!
I would give this to my mom and dad. They are on a fixed income and only buy just what they need. Maybe they could splurge a little 🙂
I would give this to the angel squad at the hospital so they could buy snacks for cancer patients who have to wait to see their DR,s have had to use them myself
I would give the giftcard to a friend that is about to have her fourth child and is just starting to coupon. I know this would boost her spirits so much to be able to make her groceries even cheaper and she’d be able to save a little more money for the baby.
I would give it to my parents. They have helped me in so many ways i could never name it all. They never think twice about their time or money. They are so kind. I have been trying to come up with ways to say thanks this would be one.
I would give to my dad, he has been laid off for over a yr and half and can’t find a job due to his health. Since he has no health insurance, he could really use the g.c for food.
I would give it to my mom who is on a fixed income.
I would give to my friend who just opened her daycare. With coupons and BOGO @5 can go along way in getting some snacks for the kiddos. UNtil she is accepted into the federal food program every little bit helps.
I would give this to my friend Cody who, like many others, lost her job recently. I’m sure she would love to be able to splurge on the things that don’t usually make it into her basket… like some delicious wine or fancy cheese. Those things aren’t usually on her list, though I KNOW she loves them. It would be nice to spoil her rotten!
I would give it to my friend who started me on coupons and has done so much to help me with everything.
I am a teacher so therefore I would give it to a student that is in need. Buying school lunches are very exspensive for many families. The family could use the gift card toward lunches for the child.
My father just died the day before Father’s day this year and my mom is almost 70 years old (in September) and takes care of my 89 year old grandmother and has my youngest sister (33) and her family living with her (including non-working husband and a 2 & 6 year old). She needs every little bit of help she can get.
To my friend, Maria, who’s father passed recently. She could use all the help she can get, between helping with his funeral, being executor of the will and dealing with his possessions.
I would give it to a mother in my mother’s group at church. Her husband is deployed and she has a toodler and a brand new baby. She could use the help!
I would give it to my mom & grandmother. They are on a fixed income and struggle to make ends meet most months. I’ve passed on the little I know to my mom about couponing and it is helping her out slowly but surely!
I would give the gift card to my friend Amy who is just starting to get into coupons, I think it would be a great way to help her build her stockpile up!
I am a teacher and I often have many children who do not have supplies or get to have a snack every day. We have a free/reduced lunch program so they are able to have the same lunch as everyone else because of that. However, it is so sad to see these babies sitting there during snack time looking at everyone else eating. I also had to buy ALL of the supplies last year for 4 of my kids.
So, I would give the card to my kids. 🙂 I wouldn’t actually hand it to them, which I know is probably what you are looking for, but I would buy snacks and school supplies for them with the card. Technically, that’s like giving it to them right? 🙂
A fellow couponer and I will be teaching a class on smart shopping and couponing at a home for unwed mothers. We will be bringing items to donate and some of our receipts to show as example shopping trips. It would be great to win this gift card to use for an example shopping trip and donate all of the items.
fun! there were a lot of people who came to mind, but we have a sweet couple that we know who are my parents age and they are in need, as she starts her own catering business…perfect if i could give it to them!
A couple from my Sunday School class could really use the help!
I would give it to a military wife. They were just moved here by the army for 3-6 months. They were only able to bring what they fit in their car and they have two little children. They’re from a very rural area in the west. Now they have to adjust to living in a larger city and the south in the summer. Being able to help them get a little stock pile and stretch their meager army pay would be a huge blessing for them.
I recently got finished teaching some ladies (and a few men) at my church how to do the coupon thing…the extreme way! So, I would definitely choose one of them who I think is struggling the most financially. And, I’d be sure to go with them to Publix one-on-one, too, to help out and teach them even more on a personal field trip!
This giveaway is great! There is a 75 year old gentleman who works at our front desk and has for the past 8 1/2 years. His name is Larry. All the guests love him, and ask for him by name. He has been everywhere and done everything! It is a blessing to know him and to work with him. All of his money goes to taking care of everything and everyone else. I would love to present him with this gift card to buy himself something nice from Publix. I just KNOW how much he would appreciate it! Thank you for your consideration!!!
I am teaching a young first time father to be, how to shop at Publix. This would go a long way in helping him learn to survive the expenses of a baby.
I would give my gift card to a homeless family. So often with a homeless family, the parents give the children all of their food. The gift card would hopefully give the parent’s an opportunity to eat also.
I would give it to my mom. She is 50+ years old and is living on her own for the first time ever. She is new to budgeting and being frugal with her expenses especially when it comes to groceries. She is learning the art of coupons and saving money when she shops. She was married for 25years and never had to worry about that and now she is starting over and learning a whole new life. So I would give it to her to help her out and encourage her to use those coupons with it.
I would LOVE to give this to a friend who just had twins!
I would give it to a friend who’s husband lost his job, then was diagnosed with Lukemia. Once a month I take 2 or 3 large boxes of food/necessities to them, but they are still just barely making it, yet the medical bills keep pilling up. I would love to be able to give them a little bonus…it would make their day!
I would give my gift card to a random person shopping at Publix. I would look for a person, who looks like they could use it the most. I would love to see the look on their face. That would completely make my day.
I would give it to one of two people, both deserving in their own way. One would be my friend who decided to quite a career to be a stay at home mom. One way her family is about to do this is her vow to do their grocery shopping (at Publix of course) for only $25 a week. She is the one who is teaching me to use IheartPublix and how to save.
The second person would be my friend who is a single mom. The story isn’t so different from other single moms. She is trying to make it on her own with a Husband who walked out weeks after the baby was born. She is hard working and wants to be a great mom. She is barely making it, and thanks to my first friend and this website its getting easier, but its still hard.
I would give it to a random person I see in line at the store. Wouldn’t that just make you so happy if someone in line gave you $25?!
To a family friend, a senior citizen, on a fixed income.
I would give the gift card to my daughter. I have always dabbled in couponing but with working and house to deal with I never did it seriously until my daughter started telling me about I Heart Publix and the type of deals that she can get to cover the needs of her family. When I retired I started doing what she told me was possible and it is hard to believe the amount of money she (and you) have saved me. She does deserve some pay back for her help.
I would love to give this gift card to friend @ church who I have been trying to teach how to coupon…She and her husband run a home for girls so they have lots of people to feed!
I would give the gift card to the cafeteria manager at my sons elementary school over the summer she was given coustody of her 5 grandchildren with very short notice. She has been getting them all ready for school and on a very limited income. Just today she was looking for clothes for her grandkids so I know if she was given a publix gift card that she would greatly appreciate it! We are doing anything we can to help her out right now.
I would give the card to my friend who is young pregnant and unemployed. Her husband works to pay the bills but they don’t really have enough to pay for the house, utilities, gas and groceries. They do luckily have family and friends who try to help them out the best that they can whether it is to invite them over for dinner or buy them some groceries for their house.
I would give it to my daughter! She could use a $25 gc! thanks
I would give the gc to my son. Thanks for the giveaway!
i wouldn’t give the giftcard to anyone. I am still training my family on how to use coupons. 🙂 I would take the giftcard and use my couponing skills to buy groceries for my mom, sister, brother, aunts, cousins, uncles, and a family that is struggling that I buy groceries for.
I would give this to my mother in law who cooks all the time for other people and family. She is most giving person I know, and always has her grandchildren help her cook, which i love the most about her, and never complains. She has 24 grandchildren, and 8 kids. I cannot tell you how many times she has called us over for dinner, just because for no special reasons, and i appreciate and admire her for her time and thoughtfulness. I would love to do something for her for a change, just because. Thanks Alot for the giveaways..
I would give it to Andy because he has been going through real tough times & he so deserves something to brighten his day. I can’t give him a much needed job, but maybe I can give him some groceries.
I would give it to my mom. She has given so much to our family and my sisters family. This would be something that she could use and I know would be very grateful for. Thanks for all the giveaways that you do.
I would probably give it to my best friend Judy ( her husband lost his job) and they have had many financial difficulties and they have two small children. I just sold my house and my realtor gave me a gift card to walmart and I bought her a ton of stuff. So if I didn’t give it to her… I would give it to SafeHome … it is an organization here in WPB for children who have been abused. We donate clothes and toys to them all the time but the director told us what is most needed is money and gift cards to teach the older children how to budget themselves in order to be able to survive once they age out. thanks!!
My son could use this.He is having a hard time finding work.
I would give this to my coworker. She has 3 adult sons (1 mentally disabled) who live with her in a small trailer. They often are down to crackers and noodles at the end of the month. She doesn’t have a computer so she can’t always take advantage of coupon deals. I try to help her out with coupons as much as possible, but I know that this gift card would mean a lot to her!
I have someone I know who goes to our church. They could really use it
I would give my gift card to my parents. They are both retired and on a fixed income. They would really appreciate and use the gift card wisely.
My answer is probably very similar to the rest. Of course I would give the gift card to my mom. Reason being she has gone thru so much in her life. She struggles daily and even tho I am trying to teach her the basics of couponing she still has troubles. My husband and I do our best to keep food in her house as well as ours. She works so many jobs but yet struggles so much. I would do anything I could to help her out more!
Thanks again for all you do.
I would give it to my prayer pal.
I would give it to my Mother-in-law. We have lived with her the past 6yrs and she hasn’t asked for anything in return. We cook and clean because there is me, my hubby, and 3 kids in the house as well. But she has been nothing but a mother to me. She is the one to pay bills and bring groceries into the house when we can’t. I took up couponing to try to help alleviate this huge bill for her, and I’m glad I did. Right now my Father-in-law is out of work and his workman’s comp hasn’t started yet, if I hadn’t started couponing back months ago we wouldn’t have the store of food that we do have. It’s not much but with 8 people in the house it is a huge help to the pocket book. I know the count seems wrong but the woman even took in MY brother when he didn’t have a place to go. She deserves more than a $25 gift card but I can’t do more than cook and clean right now!!! Thank You for your wonder blogs and comment. Without them and a few others we wouldn’t be as well off as we are!
I’m not sure if I’m even entering this in the correct spot – but just in case it is – I am…
I’d give the gift card to a sweet lady by the name of Brenda. I haven’t known Brenda very long even though we attend the same church. I met her through a need I had. My mother, who lives with me and my husband had been diagnosed with her 4th bout of lung cancer which has now matasticized to her brain. We live in a very small town with the most wonderful giving people you could ever want to meet but because of the size of the town there was no public or government assistance to transport Mom to and from her cancer treatments at times when I was unable to do so. When I asked the church secretary if there was anyone available to help with this problem she gave me Brenda’s name and number. I called and Brenda needed to get back to me when she got off of work. Off of work? I thought to myself, most people that are able to do this for others are retired, aren’t they? When she returned my call I learned that Brenda has worked it out with her employer that whenever there is a need such as Mom’s she is allowed to schedule her full time job hours around the needs of others. I also learned from one of the pastors at the church that my Mom is not the only person Brenda “loves” in this way. When I met Brenda in person I found that I already knew her by sight because she volunteers her “free” time with the Angel Food Ministry in our community (a program I also volunteer with). Before now I only knew her as the lady that paid for and delivered – several food boxes to others in need. Brenda gives of her self, her time, and far beyond her means. This gift card could never repay the blessing she’s been in my life much less the blessing she’s been in Mom’s. Just a few days ago Mom was busying herself with making pink lemonade because she was expecting a visitor! When I asked her who was coming by – she let me know it was Brenda. Mom had no appointment. No one had asked Brenda to take the time to call on Mom but she was coming and Mom was excited! I didn’t see Brenda while she was visiting but evidence of her being here was all over Mom’s face along with a beautiful vase of cut flowers that Brenda brought to her. I’m sure I am just one of the many people that would agree Brenda should be the recipient of this card.
I would give this to my mother in law as she has been out of a job for the past year and she and my father in law have been living on his social security.
I know so many people who could really use this. But my brother is the first person to come to my mind. He was out of a job b/c of the oil spill. He is actually flying out to help clean it up, since it will help pay the mortgage!!
i would give it to my mom. due to the economy, she was forced to close our family business about a year ago and could really use some “surprise” money
If I won a gift card, I would give it to my daughter and her soon to be husband. She is due any day with our 1st granddaughter and due to only being part time, she won’t be getting paid for her time off. My future son in law just got laid off after 6 years with a company and has really been looking hard to find another job. They work so hard for everything and she has really taken to couponing to stretch their money to the max. A gift card would be a godsend for these two.!
I would give it to my co-worker Myra. She and her sister started “Celebrating Angels…One Cupcake at a Time.” (Look for this group on Facebook.) It’s a small charity organization that throws cupcake parties for children and their mothers in a homeless shelter program at Trinity United Methodist Church in downtown Atlanta. She regularly asks for donations and I’m sure a $25 Publix gift card would really help.
I would give it to a family in my church who needs it right now. Their house burned down this past year and then her husband lost his job. He has since been doing side jobs but it isn’t quite enough. We have taught her couponing and she loves it and is doing really well so I know a $25 GC would go a long way for their family! It might even be a whole weeks worth of groceries for them!
I would give this gift card to my grandma because she is always giving to everyone without ever expecting anything in return. I think this would be great for her!
Thanks for your awesome giveaway.
I would give the giftcard to my sister. She is a single mom with 3 boys, who works 2 jobs and has never recieved even one penny of child support in 21 years! She could definitely use this. 🙂
I would give it to a neighbor of my father’s. It’s a family of 5. The father has a blood disease that causes his blood to clot. One clot could kill him. He just got out of the hospital and things are not going so well. They are still a fairly young family but they are struggling pretty bad. The mother is the only source of income and she is going to school too. I gave my dad a box of food to take to them and he told me those kids acted like it was Christmas! I would love to be able to help them more.
that really is so sad …This is a timeI wish I waS wealthy Id help everyone I could if poss.
I Would give this to my sweet 80-year old mother-in-law, who lives
on a fixed income. She is always giving of herself to others and
taking care of others.
I think I would give it to my pastor. Maybe see if he could do a giveaway to the church members whom ever helps for something in the church the most. Maybe it will get some members to serve more and enjoy it. 🙂
I would give the giftcard to one of my friends who is a mother of two young girls and her husband left her when she was preg with the second one. Her daycare cost are more than he pays in child support. She never complains about her situation and is a great mother. I think she would appreciate it so much, someone actually thinking of her and not the girls.
I would give the giftcard to a friend of mine who just got hired as a first year teacher. There are alot of things she needs, and she doesn’t have alot of money for her new classroom.
I would give the card to my brother-in-law and his wife. They have four children and one child is extremely special needs. If it can go wrong, it will for this family. The house needs repairs, the kids take turns being sick, the company he works for is laying off people left and right (and he could be next), the car breaks down, the bills stack up for surgeries, procedures, care, medicines, physical therapy, etc. It would be great to help with their grocery bill. We help out when we can, for example, we’ve recently introduced them to the world of extreme couponing, but it seems they are wearing a bad luck target and the receive direct hits.
There are so many people to help out and I know whoever gets this card will cherish it and appreciate your thoughtfullness so much. Thanks for all you do.
I would give it to my father-in-law. He is currently undergoing treatment for Cancer, and on disability. He goes and goes and never complains. He lives on very little and on good days still is in a lot of pain. He loves tapioca from Publix and would probably use the card on that!! ( well at least some of it!)
I would give my gift card to my mother. My mother is definitely a true believer that it is better to give then receive. Over the last two years, she has helped ten families in our neighborhood that are enduring financial difficulties with weekly groceries, she has also helped many, many airmen and college students with food for their bare pantries and coupons. She spends numerous of hours daily clipping coupons and crunching numbers to get the best deals for everybody. Also, she has never asked anyone for money to cover their grocery expenses. She tells everyone that their groceries are free. So to help subsidize her weekly expenses, I know that she would be excited to receive a $25.00 publix gift card.
I would give it to my brother. He’s been unemployed for about 6 months now, which, in a sad way, has been a help as it has given him time to take care of his wife and help her battle cancer which had spread to her brain. The bad part is that without medical insurance, he had to come up with the money for her treatments and medicines. That left nothing for food. He made due with what he had stocked up, but it ran out. When I found out, I started rebuilding his stock for him. He keeps looking for jobs in between spending as much time as he can with her which isn’t much longer. This would be a big help for him to make it through a while longer.
I would give it to my younger brother. He recently got custody of his 4 year old daughter and it would help him out a lot in getting the extra’s for her.
I would give the gift card to my mom because so many times she watches my kids so I can grocery shop without having to take them along.
So I have recently taught several families in our church how to coupon…One is the leader of our missions dept….she is currently organizing a group of orphans from the Ukraine…we have 8 families in our church hosting these orphans, however Sarah the organizer has picked up a lot of the financial slack and is using her new coupon skills to stock the host families with food…I would give Sarah the gift card. (she just called me 10min ago to let me know that on her first trip to Publix using coupons she used 150 dollars worth of coupons!!!)…Most of this is going to host families for snacks for the 2weeks the orphan will be here.
I would give this to my mother-in-law. She’s wonderful to our family (and really anyone for that matter!). I’m always wishing I could thank her with more than just a spoken “thank you” or a thank you card. Of course, I should mention my own mother is the same exact way, only problem is that she lives no where close to a Publix. Poor thing.
To my dear friend from church, she could really use it.
I would give it to my mother. She lives on a fixed income of $800/mo Social Security. She lives alone and $25 goes a long way with her
If I was able to get this gift card, I would give it to my husbands coworker. We are on the Gulf Coast and hours have been drastically cut due to oil spill. Unfortunately, because they just moved here in June they can’t get help from BP. They have 4 small children and she is a stay at home mom. I have been trying to teach them about couponing but I know this would be a tremendous help for them. Thank you for everything.
I would give the gift card to the Baptist Children’s Home of Florida to use for the mission trips that they take to Guatemala to center for malnourished children. Children are brought to this center when malnourished and treated. Baptist Children Homes of Florida go to assist the center, build additional space, update the kitchen and share the love of Christ. $25 will feed many children for a month in Guatemala.
I would love to beable to give this card to Debbie At my work. She just got custody of her three step grand children. And she could use the help
I would give the gift card to my friend, Angie Cummings. Angie is a house mother at the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home in Chattanooga, TN. She is responsible for stocking the home’s commissary and uses coupons to meet the children’s needs. The gift card, with use of coupons, could go a long way.
My sister is a single mom who could use any extra help that she can get.
I would get a list of needs from my local homeless shelter and use the giftcard to buy the items needed.
There is a couple in our church who is having a very rough time . She is disabled livin on disability her husband was fired from his job two months for health reasons he has recently had to have knee surg on both knees is unable to work for an indefinite period of time .THese are two very giving people who would do anything for anybody even in the midst of their adversity they have offered to help me since I have epilepsy and unable to drive right now so I would love 2 be able to bless this couple w sthing special ..Me and my husband get so much joy out of giving to others weither it b payin an elec bill or takin sone to dinner or giving gift cards .
Ty for ur consideration and Ims ure if we dont win that means there is someone out there that def needs it more thanks n GOd BLess
If I win, I will give it to my sister who lives in GA. She is going through a hard time financially right now and has a little baby.
I’m glad you liked my suggestion of giving it away to someone else. Of course I’d like it since I was laid off work, but… I would give the gift card to my mom since she is elderly and retired. I print coupons for her each week to be able to get extra stuff from publix to tide her over until the following week. If it’s for someone else (non family) then I would have a drawing at our church for a lucky winner. 🙂
I would give it to my friend who has struggled with infertility for several years. She gave birth to two beautiful twin boys this week. However the boys aren’t doing well and so they are in Neonatal ICU. Mom has been on bed rest for several months and that has put a financial strain on the family. Now, Mom and Dad are having to drive 2 hours one way just to see these two little miracles. The hospital doesn’t have a Ronald McDonald house but does offer housing for $25 a night. Just too much for them financially right now. So…I’d give them the card to help out with things for when they bring their long awaited little ones home. 🙂
I’d give it to our church food bank. They would make sure it got to someone who really needed it.
If I were to win the gift card I would give it to my sister in law. Annette, is selfless. Eventhough, she lost her job over 18 months ago and is single, she hasn’t let that stop her from providing for those in our family in need. She takes whatever she has, which I know isn’t much, to ensure that my mother in law and others in the family have food, medicine, and whatever else they need. She never complains and is always there with a helping hand. I wish that there were more people like her in the world. People with good hearts who never ask for anything in return and never worry about receiving recognition.
I would give it to my co-worker. She is a very sweet older lady whose husband was recently diagnosed with liver cancer. She is really struggling to pay her bills and keep up with his meds. I KNOW that she could use the card and she would be super appreciative.
I would give this to a dear friend who is just learning about couponing. I would love to show her how to stretch it.
my dad lost his job last november and after much struggles of trying to find a new one, he decided to retire early. Since he’s not allowed to draw the full amount yet, he has taken up couponing and has been doing very good about learning to do everything more frugally. I’m so proud of him!! This gift card would mean a lot.
I would love to give this gift card to my sister. She recently had her hours reduced at work so she is on a very limited income. She always shares great “deals” with me and is just an all around wonderful sister.
I would give the card to our church, we are a very small church located in Semmes, Alabama. We have a lot of church members that have been affected by the oil spill, and as shrimping and fishing is their main source of survival they could certainly use the extra help. We have been taking donations for them and I know we could make a gift card from Publix do a long way.
I have a cousin who has had diabetes for 30+ years. She is 50+ and tries to take care of everyone else. Her husband is having surgery and I know they need the help.
I would leave it in my neighbor’s mailbox and not tell her who it was from. I know she is having a very hard time and won’t ask for help.
I would give mine to a girlfirend with two small kids. Her husband works outside of the house but has had his commisions cut and she only works during the school year due to having an autistic pre-schooler. They dont have enough money to pay the bills right now and a gift card for food at Publix could go a long way.
I’d give it to a friend who lost her job
I would give it to my daughter and her family. She has just learned the couponing class and I would love to see what she can do with it,
i would give it to my parents for helping me out since i’m having trouble finding work and to thank them for being so great.
I would give it to my son and daughter-in-law. He is without work
and it would get them a container of formula for their baby.
i would give the giftcard to my mom. She is going thru hard times now and this will help her out.
I would give mine to Andrea Gurley, we have been friends since the 5th grade, were tennis partners in high school and college, and she is the one that turned me on to this website, even after I made fun of her for having a binder! And of course now mine is just like hers! LOL
I would give this to my friend/neighbor Jillian. She just had a baby and became a stay at home mom. Anything would help her now with just having one income. Thanks for doing this.
I would give the gift card to my friend Jessie who is a hard working single mom of two boys, who receives no outside help from the father for food, bills, etc relating to the kids! She is breastfeeding, working and supporting the two boys she has on her own. I would love to show up at her door with this! Not only would she Love getting it but she NEEDS it!
I would give this card to my mother in law she has seen that I have saved so much money using coupons and she yet is to lazy to cut and clip. I would take her on a shopping trip with my coupon book and fill her kitchen with food for her and her mom that she cares for that has Lupus. I think she would deserve it and would love something as special as this.
I would give the gift card to my mom. She is just learning to coupon. She and my dad are retired. She would use it wisely.
I would give mine to my Mom who loves to shop and save at Publix. 🙂
I would not give the card away but use it with my excellent shopping skills to purchase and prepare meals for a lady in our church who has had many surgeries in the recent months and needs some help caring for herself right now. I believe I could probably get enough food to make her meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for at least 2 weeks with $25.00.
Amy
I have been buying some of the Super Deals each week and donating them to a local food pantry. To earn their Gold Award, a Girl Scout troop has begun a program for this food pantry. If I were to win the gift card, I would give it to the troop with a list of the Super Deals for the week so that they can stretch that gift card and help fulfill their goal of not having to turn away any hungry people.
I would give mine to a friend with 2 small boys that have quite a few medical problems and money is very tight. She has to buy/make everything dairy, gluten, egg, wheat, peanut free (and just about any other allergy you can imagine). Both of her kids require alot of medical attention and her weekly grocery budget is $35 in Florida. That is completely unrealistic as anyone who live in or has visited Florida would know.
I would give it to Bargain Blessings Donation on http://singlelifeline.com/ its a group of couponer that give coupons and food to help others.
I would give it to a homeschool mom who just had her 4th baby. They are a single income family and she is trying so hard to be frugal. She even uses cloth diapers (what a strong woman to do all that work). She makes her own bread to cut costs and is so careful. I believe she is constantly positive attitude in spite of hard times makes her extremely worthy.
I would give the gift card to my mother. She had a stroke the day after my sisters wedding and is having a hard time getting help. She has been unemployed for two and half years so i would love to be able to give her something to lift her spirits.thank you for doing this their’s alot of people in need. God Bless
I have a big family, I used to spend $200.00 a week to feed my family with no coupons. Looking back now that’s just crazy. My hubby owes a martial arts school. One of our students mom is great at saving money with her coupons. She has a great coupon binder that goes with her everywhere. She was kind enough to show me what I needed to do to save money for my family aswell. The first thing she said was check out old.iheartpublix.com I went from never shopping at publix… thinking Winn Dixie was cheaper with all their BOGO’s to now only shopping at publix, spending less than half of what I used to. Will one day be even cheaper but still working on building a great stockpile for my family. If I won I would give the gift card to her not only for being an awesome saver and a huge Iheartpublix fan but more importantly taking the time to help others better their families aswell. Thanks again Nancy for everything!!!!
If I win this, I will give it to a fellow coworker. She just had twins and could use the money even if it is just on diapers. She’s new to couponing and is in the beginning stages. We both teach (her husband teaches too) and it’s the end of the summer so money is tight right now. She’s about to be paying tons in day care as well. It would brighten her day if she received a gift card.
I would like to share my best frugal tips to new moms at the crisis pregnancy center and give this $25 Publix card as a door prize!
I would give the gift card to a friend who is a pastor. His church hasn’t been able to meet his full salary (far from it) for awhile and he remains faithful to the call God has placed on his life, and faithful serving his congregation at such sacrifice. He has a sweet wife and several children. The attitude of the entire family is so joyous despite all they live without. This pastors wife is the one who taught someone in my family to coupon and my family member taught me. His wife is a faithful follower of your website. It would thrill my heart to get to give this family $25 gift card. If I had it within my ability I’d give them $500 gift card.
My best friend since high school found out she had a very aggressive form of breast cancer one month after she found out she was pregnant with her first child. (doctor told her she probably would never get pregnant BTW). She had chemotherapy all throughout her pregnancy and just delivered the baby girl last Wednesday. She is a single mom and will be working full time when she goes back to work, and continue her chemotherapy for atleast another three months. She has enough to worry about as it is and I live 800 miles away. I plan to hire someone to clean her house once a week for as long as she needs it. I will give her the gift card to help her stock up on green cleaning products.
I would give it to my sil/bil & one year old nephew who lost their home and all their belongings in the Nashville Floods in May. They have been living with us and are moving back out on their own with very little.
I would stick the card into the backpack I bought for a school donation. That way the child and mother will have a suprise and feel better about back to school time!
I know exactly who I would give this to, my friend Shannon. She is a homeschool mom of 6 kids ages 5-18. Her husband lost his job 2 years ago and hasn’t found a solid one since, only small jobs here and there. In the last 3 years or so she has also been in 2 car accidents where people rear-ended her. She has lots of back pain from this. Because of their financial situation, this sweet family goes without air conditioning… this is in Florida weather where the feel-like temperatures are 110! She has also started cleaning houses (despite her back) along with her older children in order to make ends meet. She wants to do couponing but just doesn’t have the energy, so thanks to what I’ve learned about couponing we are able to give them boxes of food!!! Praise God!!! This Publix gift card would be a huge blessing to her!
I would love to give the gift card to my older sister. She is a teacher and currently does not have a job. She could really use a boost to her spirit and her budget!
I would give the card to a friend who is a single mom and having trouble putting food on the table.
I would give it to my friend who is very sick and has lost his job. He’s losing weight like crazy from lack of appetite coupled with lack of money for food. I would give it to him to buy some Ensure or some food he enjoys eating that is easy to prepare.
Rather than give the actual gift card away, I would use it to buy some “super deals” to donate to the local food bank. That way I could give them more than $25 worth of supplies and food!
I would give the gift card to my pastor. My pastor is ALWAYS giving to others in the church. Our pastor is always rewarding the children in the church and I have seen individuals ask for gas money, bill money, etc..The gift card will allow her to buy her favorite fruits and a nice steak!!!
I would give my gift card to my friend Colleen. Why? Because she is the one that has taught me everything I know about coupon. With the help of all the websites you have listed and what she has learned, she is never too busy to help a person out. Even in the checkout line today a woman behind her seen her work her magic and handed her, her email and said, please tell me how to do it. Colleen, without hesitation, said she’ll email her just as soon as her 3 babies allow her too. I’m sure it will be with in a week. She is awesome!
I would give a $25 gift card to a translator that is coming to my house to translate from Russian to English for the two orphan children I will be hosting for two weeks. This girl is a college student, and is volunteering her time to translate for me and these orphan children. I would love to give this to her as a thank you for her time.
I would give my gift card to my friend Shelley. Her family is on a very tight budget, just like mine. She is a very good friend. We call each other about coupons, sales, which Publix treated us the best, etc. It would truly bless her family.
I will give it to friend whose husband is starting a church plant. They are raising support, trying to sell their house and have 4 little boys.
I would gift it to my son in the service!
I give what I got using the card to my SIL. I have been trying to get her into couponing and maybe if I showed her far $25 could go it would click!
I’d take my SIL to Publix and help her to stretch this $25 with my coupons.
I would give it to a man I saw standing on the side of the road today. He had a cooler filled with bottled water that he was trying to sell. His sign said something along the lines of Cold water $1 a bottle need the money to help my kids, God bless. I don’t carry cash on me and wished at the moment that I had so I could have given him money.
I would give it to my friend who has lost her job.
To someone in need.
I would give the gift card to a friend who just recently found out she is pregnant.
What a perfect idea!!! I would give the card to my very favorite charity in my area, Interfaith Emergency Services. Their mission is to bring together people of all faiths to minister those in need through prayer and action. They administer a number of programs; food & clothing distribution, emergency shelter for women, male recovery house, transitional housing for families, eyeglass program for children and adults, provide workboots to workers who can’t afford them, a learning center with classes from parenting to obtaining a GED, Food 4 Kids: provides 900 children each week with food packed in a backpack for weekend consumption, etc…
Interfaith is amazing and I am always in awe with all that they do. I can’t afford to provide anything other than my time and goods for their thrift store, so giving them a gift card to buy food would be rewarding.
I would give it to either my parents or my brother and sister-in-law. My dad went from making about $60K a year to about $35K because of the downturn and his company’s buyout. He’s a sales guy and they changed his commission rates so he was not making the same commission anymore. My mom is a kindergarten teacher at a church preschool; together, they probably make $40K a year. I know they’re having a hard time keeping their heads above water, especially since my sister is still in college and they’re still helping her out as much as they can. My mom always says she’s going to come grocery shopping with me at Publix so she can stretch her dollar better. I recently gave them 16 bottles of Hershey’s syrup and four jars of Miracle Whip that I paid next to nothing for so that they would not have to buy that for themselves.
My brother and sister-in-law are in similar situation. My SIL just graduated from college, but she’s having a hard time finding a job since they have a four-year-old son and know how much daycare would cost. My brother has been laid off twice in four years and is finally working somewhere he can be for a while. He desperately wants to go back to school, but they’re not sure they can afford him doing that. They love to shop at Publix and have asked me several times to help them figure out how to coupon.
Thanks for the giveaway, Michelle!
If I won this gift certificate, I would give it to a friend of mine who’s baby girl is turning 1. They are struggling ro get by right now and she wants to have a little party for her baby but is very stressed about not having enough food to serve. I have volunteered to bring several dishes and help her by coupon shopping for the foods she wants to serve but it s still not enough to cover the party. This gift certificate would truely be a blessing to her right now..along with coupons I would give her to make it go much further!!
I would give it to my neighbor. They are struggling every payday to buy enough groceries to make it another 2 weeks. I try to invite them over a couple nights per week for dinner. We have learned how to coupon together & I always give her coupons on current deals before I go get anything.
I would gift this card to my mother. My dad was diagnosed with Lou Gerig’s Disease four years ago and needed a full time care taker. My mother made a selfless act and retired from her job early to take care of his 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I could never do what my mom does but to help with her finances with the early retirement I choose to coupon for her to help the bills stay as low as possible. She would be in tears to receive such a great gift and if anyone deserves it, MY MOM DOES! Thank you and God Bless all of you!
I would give the card to an older lady at church who could just use something good..her husband died a few months back and she is taking care of her granddaughter and I am sure many others. She helps with anything going on with a smile! Would be nice to give her something to help…pay it forward..
I would give it to my daughters school. Last year they had over $100k for supply funding including pencils, paper, toilet paper, hand soap…etc. This year it’s been cut to $25K. As the saying goes every little bit counts.
I would give it to my friend, her husband, and their 2 boys. They don’t have very much money and I know they could really use the help and they would really appreciate it! Or maybe since she doesn’t coupon, I could take it to Publix and use it (and my coupons) to get even more for them! Yes, that’s what I would do. Then maybe she would realize how much she doesn’t have to spend to get so much!
I would send it home with a little boy in my class. As a teacher, I see many cases of kids not having enough to eat. Both of his parents have lost their jobs due to the economy and you see they are struggling by what he wears to school and brings to eat. I have sent coupons home with him and I always recieve a note saying how much they appreciate them. However, it would be nice to send home a gift card for $25.
I would give this giftcard to my older sister. She has always helped me out when I’ve needed it and she just moved, so money is tight for her. She has two little ones to feed and is just getting into couponing. I’d love to take her shopping and show her how to strech $25 to feed a family of 4 for a week or longer!
This is sooo cool. I would give it to my mother-in-law as she takes such good care of her husband. He has had several strokes and a broken hip. She is a awesome person. She loves Publix and won’t shop anywhere else. I love her!
OMG Michelle, This giveaway totally made me think of my friend and neighbor (let’s call her Suzie). Her world has been turned upside down since May. Let’s see if I can make this a short story…Well, in May, she turned her back on her car for a few moments, only to find here 18mo. old daughter had gotten out of her car seat and her head was stuck in the window–unconscious and not breathing. Thankfully my husband was home, helped with life-saving techniques on the child, etc, etc.
Long story short, the courts, DFCS, etc got involved and Suzie’s life has been turned upside down. She can’t work until this is over, her husband is out of town lots w/his job, and of course, on top of an already tight budget, they have legal expenses.
I want so much to help her financially, even if in a small way, but we have a tight budget too (my hubby is a teacher who has suffered furloughs).
We both love our neighborhood Publix and I think “Suzie” would be blessed to receive this gift.
Thanks for your generosity
I would give it to a local ministry here in town. they work with kids and their families. The director does music camps for inner city kids as well as feeding the families. He also provides clothing for these families.
I’d give to my parents..because they do so much for me and my family. My mom cooks 1-2 meals a week to share with us, not to mention that she helps with childcare for our 3 children.
This Publix gift card would go to Learning and Families, the Sarasota, FL homeschool support group I belong to. We have an Expo coming in late August and need items for our Silent Auction. Our non profit group hosts seminars for SW FL families to learn about homeschooling, runs a Co-Op where 150+ kids take enrichment classes in everything from Public Speaking to Life Science, and hosts community wide events throughout the year. We provide encouragement, curriculum, & support for homeschooling moms and dads seeking to guide and direct their children’s educational choices. It would help impact a lot of families (last count was 219!!!). Thanks!
I would give to very good friend who friend is in need of few miracles. Due to lack of work in her field the family home is on the verge of going into foreclosure, they are from Haiti her husband works as a translator and Marie works in childcare, she is working a on her AA degree but without experience the pay to work in childcare is very low, they have 4 children. To make matter worse they AC unit in the home stopped working last year and because of lack of funds they are not able to get it repaired so with temp hoving around 100 degree they have not AC they make do with fans, I visited a couple of days ago and house was sweltering to put it mildly. I help as much as possible, and we shopped together at publix. This would be a great blessing to this family.
I would give the gift card to my sister-in-law who’s husband has been unemployed for a few months now. They had to move in with her parents & things have been pretty tight for them.
I would give it to this dear lady I met last week who is single handedly raising 6 grandchildren on her waitressing salary. God bless her for her servants heart!
I would share it with my neighbor a single mom who works and has 3 kids..I share my coupon bounty with her sometimes..I think it would help her to buy things she may need milk,eggs,etc..
I have a friend who has been to the doctor everyday for the past 2 weeks. She is having a hard time .The doctors keep tell something new is wrong with. And in the doing all this she is helping her daughter who just had twin boys.
I would give this card to my grandmother. She is on a fixed income with only social security coming in, which is lower than her monthly rent, therefore, has to be very careful about her spending because her funds are dwindling down with no other source of income coming in permenantly. I know she would appreciate the gesture very much.
I’d give this to my mom… she has yet to shop at Publix, so a gift card might entice her to give them a try!
A girl that I have worked with at our church for 10 years now…she just bought her first house and has had a bunch of problems with money, boyfriends, ex-boyfriends, now a water leak…I’m going to sit down and go over the ins and outs of your blog, coupons and saving $$… this would be a great way to kick that off for her!
I’d give it to my mom. She’s such an amazing woman who deserves something special every once in awhile. Although she has dialysis treatments 3 days a week, she still cooks, bakes, and babysits her granddaughters without missing a beat! She is so awesome and I would love to surprise her with this gift card.
I work with teenage mothers and this could buy some great diapers.
I’d give it to the local lady who runs so many different community outreach programs from her home. From bread donations, to collecting items for children in foster care. Lots of hard luck stories show up on her porch so I’d ask her to give it to whoever seems to need it most!
I would give it to my brother and his family. They have been through so much over the past year with their little boy who had to have a bone marrow transplant. They moved to the Children’s hospital in Minnesota for 6 months in order for him to have the transplant and the follow-up care he needed. My brother left his job behind and they have really had a hard time with the medical bills. I would love to be able to just help them out a little.
I would give it to my mother’s friend who is taking care of an ill daughter.
Well, I have to say I would give the gift card to a girl I teach with. She is involved with the ACE program from Notre Dame. It is a program where a group of grad students live together (here they live in the old convent lol) and teach for 2 years. They do not get paid and it is actually part of their schooling. The rec. a very small stipend. We try to make boxes of food to send over to the convent so they can actually have a little spending money. I would give the gift card to Christa to use with her fellow classmates/teachers.
If I were to win the gift card I would give it to my mother. She is widowed, living alone on a fixed income. She gives unselfishly and never complains. I would never be able to repay her for all that she has done and continues to do for me.
I would give this card away to my sister. She is expecting and their family can really use it at this time.
I would give it to my friend who is having a hard time right now. The other day they ate saltines and peanut butter crackers for lunch. Two kids and no food is not good. Just been praying hard 🙂
I would give it to my mom and dad. My grandmother (my dad’s mom) passed away yesterday and I love to give them something to make them smile.
I would give this coupon to my Mom…along with a lesson in couponing! She is always saying she wants to learn how I save so much money. I would give the gift card to her, sit down and help her with her grocery list and then go shopping with her.
I would give this away to a stranger that looked like they were in need. Sometimes people just need a helping hand. I know this from experience.
I would give this to my mom because she sacrifices so much to give me the things I need and to help me make it through college. When I’m home for summer I know her grocery bill grows exponentially and she basically works every week just to buy groceries and pay the bills. This would at least take a little of the pressure off of her shoulders and perhaps allow her to put aside a few extra dollars to do something for herself.
I would give it to my friend Rachel who I just sprent the last seven hours with in the ER and who has spent the last week out of work due to a nasty virus. With the doctor’s bills and the lack of work, she could definitely use a little help.
I met a 57 year old man the other day through a Charity Organization. He desperately needs help with having a hearing aid fixed, the club I am with is in the process of trying to help with that and I am praying that we can come through for him so that he can keep his job. I know this man probably struggles day to day to put food on his table, not week to week. This man at 57 should be deciding what year of his life he would like to retire but I know that he will probably have to work for the rest of his life. Although I can not physically hand this gentleman a gift card, I would like to anonomously mail it to him. It could mean he won’t struggle as much this month.
I would give it to my parents. They had a fire in their home about a month ago. By the grace of God their lives were spared. Having no home insurance (both parents are in their late 70’s) it has been a long, slow, expensive process re-roofing; re-wiring; cleaning soot from every where; not being able to live in their home…not to mention dealing with the loss of so many things. There have been friends, neighbors and family who have and are helping as much as possible and my parents want to do some sort of neighborhood block party to that them all. This gift card would help pay for the food they would be providing as a thank you.
I would give the giftcard to my friend and her husband who is still in the process of repairing their house from the flood back in May (Nashville).
I will give my gift card to my parents. What better way to show them that I appreciate them so much then to give them $25 for use on things they really need?! 🙂
I would give mine to a friend who is a struggling single mom of 3. Back to school time is very expensive and she could use the extra help stretching the few dollars she makes as a pre-school teacher.
Thank you!
I would give it to my sister, 10 days ago she went in hospital er for bad back pain. After catscan they found cancer in several areas of body. This is related to breast cancer from 2 years ago she beat. We are strong in our faith and belong to a large church. People are praying all over the country. When they did biopsy they punctured her liver she suffered internal bleeding which in turn cause her to get pneumonia. She was in a lousy hospital and with the help of the lord and friends she knows in med field she is in a better hospital. As soon as she is stabilized she will go home and start outpatient chemo. She will be out of work for a while and she is breadwinner in house. This gift certificate may not be allot but it is of some help to them. If i dont win it what i would ask is if my fellow iheartpublix friends can pray for her. Her name is anne and she is going to be 49 on august 29th.
I would mail this gift card to a friend of mine who is just learning how to coupon. It would be a great way for her to start.
Our church has a ministry called Coastal Pregnancy Center. It allows women who are pregnant (or think they are pregnant) free pregnancy tests and counseling. They also provide baby clothing, pantry staples, etc. to those in need.
I would give mine to my mother and father-in-law because everytime they come to visit us they take us to Publix and treat us to great budget-busting food. I’d love to be able to take a little off their total! =)
I would give it to a family at my church whose husband fell out of a tree while trimming it and punctured a lung, broke his femur, etc. They have no insurance whatsoever and he’s the only one that works. They are in a very, very bad situation. Thanks for the chance.
I would give it to my mom 🙂 She has some memory loss, and gets frustrated by coupons, but gets so excited when she gets a deal. Perfect!
I would give it to my sister in law who just gave birth (in these economic times!) and is expecting 5 out of town guests to meet the baby who are staying for a month!
I would give it to my husband’s grandmother. She and his grandfather are on such a tight budget for groceries – I think it would really help. I already send her coupons to help out, but a gift certificate would be wonderful!
I would give it to my daughter Alyssa. Alyssa is a married mother of two ages 3 and 5. She and her husband work seperate shifts to avoid child care bills .
The whole family help’s them out in some way or another when ever they can .
A gift certificate to help with groceries would be great. She is being shown on how to save via this site and me her Mum.You have made it a family affair thats fun and competitive.Thank you Ladies .
I would give it to my Mom. She raised me by herself and has struggled many years. She had lost her job last year and recently found a new one but is struggling once again (as she makes considerable amount less)and doing without insurance. My mom has always been there for me when I needed her.
I’ve shown her this website to help her with saving as much money as she can.
I am a teacher at a middle school in Port Richey, Florida. There are a lot of families up in the area that struggle with daily living expenses, like food. I even have a student who lives in a van with his sister, parents and pets. I will have the same students this year as I had last so I am familiar with each of the families and their needs. This would be a great gift to be able to give to one of these disadvantaged families. It could not only be used for groceries, but for school supplies too.
To my friend Christie for giving me a Publix Gift card for us helping her, when she shouldn’t have (we were just helping a friend expecting nothing else in return).
i will give it to my coworker maria, she works partime and have a hard time getting money for groceries, rent ans such so this wll be a nice gift for her family. thanks for the oportunity
My 88 yo neighbor who’s sister and son are both dying and who talks about not being able to get out of Publix w/out spending $50/wk for one person (though I’ve tried to tell her about couponing…).
To my Dad. They are going thru a rough time right now and have extra mouths to feed.
I’d give the card to my fried Becky since she has been out of work for some time now.
I would give it to my friend, Jenn. She works so hard to coupon and continually blesses me with some of her freebies.
I would give to my friend Geri. She takes care of a two year old daughter, her leagally blind brother and her injured on the job husband by herself and she still will not accept money from me for dropping me off at home in the evenings. She is outstanding!!
My neighbors who are so generous to me!
I would give it to my friend, Maggie. Her family construction business has taken a huge hit in this tough economy and they are in dire need..but yet she always gives of her time, food, and money to those around her that need it more than she does. She is always volunteering at her son’s school and she does it all with a smile…even when you know that she really wants to cry. She deserves a break…a little something to lessen her burdens.
I would like to give the card to a friend whose husband lost his job. They have 5 kids and would benefit greatly! 🙂
I would give the giftcard to a dear friend. I can not describe the hardships this woman has been through, yet her testimony for our Lord is unbelievable. She is giving, and continues to be blessed. Currently, her oldest son leaves for college today on a football scholarship. I know she has no out of pocket money to give him for “stuff”. She is a remarkable woman and I would love for her to have this gift!
Thanks for considering,
Kathy
My best friend’s husband lost his job about 6 months ago. He’s been actively searching, but hasn’t found anything yet. I think they would really appreciate the gift card, especially since they will be having a baby this month.
I am teaching a coupon class at a friends house this coming Saturday. Our house is too small to fit all of the people from our church that are interested in saving money on groceries! So, she offered to open her home for us, and I’d love to send her a Publix giftcard as a thank you!
My friend Cammie. . She shared Ger lice of couponing with me!!
I would give the card to a family friend Ginger. She helped my dad by cooking, cleaning and keeping him company. She had to move away, and she and her husband are starting over, from scratch. Twenty five dollars could buy them some goodies for their pantry that they might not be able to afford otherwise.
If I were to win the gift card I would love to give it to my sister. We started couponing together and talk everyday and let each other about coupons we have found and sites we checked out. She usually does better than me in finder the great deals but thats ok she tells me so I can get it to. She also has a newborn and a gift card would help. Gift card for my best sister!!!
I would give the gift card to my 10yr old daughter – so she can prepare a meal for the family that SHE thinks everyone would enjoy (of course it would have to be somewhat healthy – not just a frozen pizza). Any extra on the gift card she could use for desert or next weeks meal! This would help teach her the value of a dollar!
I would give this to my mom she has put so much effort into teaching me how to coupon:-)
I would give to my mom who is in between jobs right now and who was there for me when I needed help in the past.
I would help my in-laws.
I would give this gift certificate to one of my coworkers who loves animals and brings in all dogs and cats she finds or who show up at her house. She needs all the help she can get when it comes to buying food for them.
I will give my gift card to my son so he could purchase his medication that costs nearly 1000.00/month- no insurance.
If I won a $25 Pubix gift card, I would give it to my son’s girlfriend. She just started a job making minimum wage. She hasn’t worked in almost two years due to a car wreck that injured her pelvic area. At the time she was attending GED class and had a scholarship for college. With a little money she can get a vehicle, her driver’s license, her GED and then be on her way to becoming self sufficient and self reliant!
If I had a gift card to give away, I would give it to my sister. She recently went though a divorce and is currently trying to sell the house that her and her ex still own. She is very tight on money now because she has taken over all the other bills and has a dog with a lot of medical problems. Just a few days a go she only had $55 in her account. She needed to buy milk and two RXs, but one of the RXs went way up on price and she was not going to be able to get them both. Luckily the pharmacy called around and got the RX for really cheap. She ended up sppending $53. This is not the only time that she has had a few dollars left before payday. I know a small gift card will not make a big difference, but it will help her a lot. I just hope she can sell her house soon (it’s been on market for around six months, and only three people have looked at it!)!
I would give it to my mother in law, she is always there for everyone and deserves it all!!! She doesn’t work and finances are tight! We help each other, but she helps me more. She has watched my 21 month old since she was born with no expectation of money. My husband has been out of work for over a year and we help her with providing items we can help her with (coffee, garbade bags, cereal, bath items etc.). This card would help her shop for things she needs.
Thnak you for this great give a way.
My mother watches my little one while I teach 5th grade during the days. She is an excellent mother and I couldn’t live with out her. She won’t accept money for watching her grandchild, but I know she would gladly accept a PUBLIX giftcard! 🙂
My father is having a rough time and is in need of any assistance he can receive. I’m trying to teach him the tricks-of-the-trade with Publix, and a gift card would be a great motivation to learn how to use your site (and share it with others)!
I would give this to my mother. My mother has no car and lives on a fixed income. Once a month I try to send her something like flowers, money or just something I think she would like.
I would give it to a friend of mine who just lost her job, and she is trying to support her three small children on own. She works so hard as a mom and the only provider for those kids. it breaks my heart to think she is worrying about money and food. 🙁
I would Probably give this either to a college student I know who is concentrating hard on getting an education and doesn’t make much.
OR
I would give it to my favorite Publix Cashier. I would imagine that they don’t make much and she is always patient with my coupons, and never complains like some of the others do.
Sounds nice, love this one.
Great idea! I would just buy more items for Charity with the extra $25. Its amazing what you can buy for $25 at Publix.
Great Give Away
I would give it to my daughter. Why, because I can’t always afford the stuff she wants. She’s a produce junkie and then she could buy whatever fruits she wants!
I’m torn. I’d love to give it to friend’s of ours that shop mostly at Publix. They just had a baby, yesterday actually. They want to start using coupons, and my husband showed them your blog. They shop a good bit at Publix, but…
I also have a friend in Savannah with two kids and they’re both working, but still barely getting by. I wish I could help them more than we can right now, and this would be a great way to do so. I’m just not sure if they’ll go since Publix is out of their way.
The little boy that I babysit for is going through very hard times. I usually wash his laundry for him since they dont make it to the laundramat too often they work so much. I have also started cloth diapering him in my home with my sons diapers to help them with not having to buy diapers so much. They recently had to give there dog away because of the cost to keep him up. I would love for his mom to be able to get him some snacks for home, or a few toys, diapers… I know she could put it to good use right now and she is working so hard to care for him she really deserves it.
I would give it to my best friend, Summer. She is an amazing Christian mother of 2 young boys whose husband lost his job almost a year ago. Unemployment has run out and he has applied for every job available. He was just hired at a minimum wage job, but because it was a company just getting off the ground floor, and with a large number of employees, he has been waiting for over 3 weeks to attend training. It was hard for me, as I’m sure it was harder for her, to hear her call me last week and finally just tell me she doesn’t know what to do. Unemployment already ran out, her husband is in limbo, and her growing boys need new clothes for school. I help as much as I can, but it’s really not much, so here is something I can do – attempt to help her this way. My fingers are crossed for her.
Its hertbreaking reading all these posts. My husband is also unemployed. However, I would give this giftcard to a single mother that is going through a rough time. She has three little ones.
My daughter just moved into her first apartment at college and is very surprised at all the grocery basics she needs – oil, sugar, flour, salt, pepper, spices, etc etc etc. I would give this to her and introduce her to couponing to get more than the face value of the gift certificate. 🙂
I would give this to my friend who is missionary that runs our Love in Action resource center here in town. She can use to buy for the food pantry or buy school supplies for the Fill the Bus campaign they have running.
I would love to give away the gift card to a random mom. I recently gave away my beechnut coupons to a mom who was using a WIC check to buy baby food. It felt good to give away to someone who had a greater need than I. I also told her how to stack coupons and she was so excited.
I would give it to my wife, she works hard to strech the food dollars and any help is welcome!
Our church is starting a pantry to help the community, and this gift card would go a long way towards stocking it up!
I would give the gift card to my friend and poor graduate student, Cristy Hall, who could certainly use the money for food. Thanks!
I would give it to my BFF who has 2 small kids, no job and is trying to go back to school. Her husband works ALOT to help make ends meet….. Thanks!
I would give this card to my aunt who just had surgery and will be off work until September with only 60% of her income from disability insurance. 🙁
I would give this card to one of my good friends who works hard running her own business and being a mom. She definitely deserves it!
I would give to a random shopper in Publix. We live in one of the hardest hit areas in Florida. We have had the highest foreclosure rate in the US and Obama even called our small town a SLUM. There ar many people in our area who could use help. I would love to see the persons face when they get it.
I would mail it to my friend in florida just as an I love you gift.
I would give it to ‘my sister’ and by ‘my sister’, I mean I would keep it for myself:)haha
I would give the gift card to my son, who is out of work. His wife works really hard to use coupons and save money on their food bill for their family of 5. Thank you.
I would like to give the gift card to Summer Kenton, who told me about this website. She is the mother of two kids… hard working, funny.. and always seems to have a positive outlook. She gets very little help from her ex and is always trying to make others happy.
Nicole
I would give it to my local pregnancy center. Many of the girls who come in there are in desperate situations.
I would give it to my parents who are on a fixed income and who are both mostly bed-ridden and have to pay for help for 16 hours of the day. I am not able to help them since they live out of town and don’t want to live with me.
I would give the gift card to a family that just last week had a baby. It is always a blessing to be able to go out and pick up a premade Publix meal when you have a newborn!
I would give my gift card to my son’s girlfriend. She is in college and struggling and has been so kind to me and my family. I was laid off from my job and oftentimes could not make ends meet myself. She works at a local pastry shop and even though she needed the money she was saving, she always was so willing to help us out, even if she had very little herself. I admire her thoughtfulness, generosity, and genuine caring. At age 22 herself, that is a rare gift.
I will give the card to one of my chidren who are in college and they always need some extra money. My son works at night and he always goes to Publix to buy his food to sanck at night.
No doubt, I would give the $25 Publix gift card to the hardest-working, most focused college student I know…who is also a fledgling bargain shopper and great cook!
My daughter, Lizzy has been working so hard this summer to save money and help cover her college expenses. She is a barrista and a part-time nanny, working up to 2 wks at a time without a day off. She is going into her sophomore year in college and will be living off campus for the first time. I have been collecting bargain-priced kitchen items for her for the past few months because she loves to cook. A gift card to Publix would be ideal because she enjoys the Aprons Meals and I have been teaching her to take advantage of the BOGOs and coupons!
I will give the card to my friends who just finalized the adoption of a sibling group of 5 ranging from 2 1/2 to 13 bringing them to a family of EIGHT! they are a blessing to others!
I would give it to my friend. Her husbands work trailer caught on fire and insurance is not going to cover it. Any little bit would help them out.
I would give my gift card to my mother. Her employer is shutting the doors in a week or two and she could really use it. She has been so worried about loosing her job I think it would make her feel good.
I would give it to the person in publix who helped me start saving more money!
I know just the person…they would LOVE this! 🙂
I would give it to my friend who helped get me started on couponing. She has 4 kids!
I would give it to my daughters PTA. They are always providing food for the teachers and community. This would give the members of the PTA a little break from using their own money.
my neighbor.
I would give it to my friend, who is unemployed and her husband is also unemployed. They really could use it!
I would give the card to my Kindergarten class! I teach in a Title I school and most of my children come from poor homes. I would use the card to buy snacks and breakfast items to have for them in my room. 🙂 Thanks for this awesome website. God Bless!
I would give it to my teen son. He has not received an allowance for several years now and would be a nice surprise splurge for him.
I have a friend who just started couponing and this would be a nice little boost for her.
I’d give the card to the lady I teach with. She works as an assistant to me in 3yr olds 3days/week, and lead teaches a 2 yr old class 2days/week. In the afternoons, she works in the baby room in another preschool. Between job #1 and job #2 she keeps 2 of her grandchildren, ages 1 & 3. She could use a couple of dollars to spend on herself.
The family I “nannied” for has 5 children and one on the way. The father is recently unemployed and the mother is seeking part time work on nights and weekends to help out. The oldest child also has medical problems from JRA. This family is so precious to me and have always helped me out in my rough times. Any little bit would help them out right now!
I would give my $25 gift card to my Nana (grandmother). She is on a fixed income and recently lost my grandfather’s small pension. She always makes sure that she sends cards to family members on special occasions even though cards are so expensive. Maybe she could purchase more greeting cards this way.
I would give the gift card to my mom. She is a single mother who is the hardest working person I know. In fact, at one time, I remember her having 3 jobs at once just to get by. She has taught me the true value of a dollar and I forever owe her my gratitude.
This sight has been essential in helping us be able to afford groceries each month. great work and thanks!
I know a young couple with a 6 week old child. They are homeless–living in my neighbor’s son’s house….he has a new job & they are saving for an apt. deposit. She is 18. He is African American & She is white. Both families have rejected them. They have absolutely nothing. She’s applied for WIC….but right now, they need all of the help they can get!
I would love to give it to one of the young mothers I know who have just started shopping (and saving) at Publix. Showing them just how much you could stretch $25 would be a great tool in teaching them how to coupon.
I would give my $25 gift card to my mom. She is always cooking dinner for our huge family and having friends over to eat too. She loves to give things away out of her pantry to me and my two sisters (a lot of it is BOGOs from Publix). Publix is one of her favorite stores and she doesn’t have a whole lot of time to coupon, so i would love to bless her with a way to save her some money and give back a small portion of what she has given me and my husband in groceries.
I would love to give this gift card to this family in my hometown who recently lost everything to a fire, and show them how to coupon and combine with this gift card to truly get the most for their dollar.
I would love to be able to give my son who is going away to college.
A girlfriend of mine who had been trying for two years to adopt a baby girl from China got word early in the year that the adoption would be delayed indefinitely, so she and her husband decided to try for a baby of their own. After much trying and not much luck, they experienced a miracle. A friend of their pastor called and said he knew a young woman in Georgia who had just had a baby boy and wanted to give it up, but wanted to make sure the baby went to nice people. She drove up to Georgia and adopted the baby when he was just a few days old. Then, two weeks later, she discovered that she was pregnant. She’s due in October and will then have TWO little boys to feed. She had planned on taking the hormones to nurse the adopted baby, but since she’s pregnant, he’s on formula and it’s so pricey!
I gave her all of the free Sprout baby food I could score and I’m sure she’d be thrilled to get this, too 🙂
To a good friend who has 2 children and 1 due any day now 🙂
I would give the gift card to my best friend and her fiance. He graduated from law school and passed the BAR exam no problem, but he’s having difficulty finding another job that relates to his career. They are doing their best to bank money, but I know how every little bit helps. My best friend is a graphic designer who has a big project right now but won’t be paid until the three month schedule is done and the project has been submitted. In the meantime, I think they would appreciate having a little grocery help since they still have to take care of themselves, even though they are living with his mother. They still have to chip in on all the bills and pay a share of rent.
I would give the gift card to my brother’s friend…he is out of work and trying to support his family on unemployment. My brother was recently over visiting and the kids were hungry and his friend said there as no money to buy food, and he didn’t know how he was gonna feed his 2 little kids…so my brother went home and filled up a few bags of food to give them…he thought my sister (whom he lives with), would be mad at him for doing this..but she said, she was glad to help and that thanks to couponing, she had enough to share and was willing to help out his friends family.
I guess you never realize, how much that extra box of cereal or pasta, can go to help someone who has nothing.
so I would give the card to them, so they would be able to get more food for their family.
I would give the gift card to a local family who recently lost their father. The mom stays at home with their three kids and is pregnant with the fourth child. Money is tight and I know she would appreciate the help!
I was going to put something in about a neighbor of mine but she is much better off than so many of the others I just read about. I feel like crying. I hope it goes to whoever needs it most. Bless all.
I would give the gift card to a coworker who is the main income maker, her 3 girls have been so sick for the last year and she just recently had a seizure so she is under alot stress worrying about her health as well as her three girls and bringing home the money. It would be a huge blessing to be able to give her this gift card to help with the groceries!!
My friend in Texas and I have had this fun little game that we play. We trade gift cards to help with random acts of kindness. They are always gift cards that we win and they must be used to help others… I would definitely send this gift card to her to continue our tradition!
I would give it to my brother who is a fireman struggling to get on with a fire company. Like so many others he has had several interviews but has yet to make it on as they only choose one out of hundreds. This would defiantly help him and his fiance out as they are barely making it.
I would give this to my neighbor who gives all my children piano lessons and is always so generous to us! This would definitely be a big help to her. I’d love to be able to treat her for once. Thank you!
I would give the gift card to my daughters boyfriends older (23)brother. He has been on his own since he turned 18 in he took his girlfriend’s brother and younger brother in when they had nowhere to live and even helped take care of her and her younger siblings. He supported then all working at walmart with no help from anyone. he is currently living with coworkers and trying to get his diploma and could really use some help
I would give the gift card to my sister in law. She has 2 sons, ages 6 & 8, and is having a tough time right now.
I would give the gift card to our church’s new music minister and his family. They moved from CO to AL and have 6 children. I think it would be a nice way for them to get setteled in and explore our community.
I would give it to the person behind me in line at the grocery store. Random acts are a blessing and what a way to bless someone.
I would give my card to a lady who lives in my apartment complex. She recently lost her job and is a single mom to two young boys.
I would give to my daughter she hit on hard times with the Nashville floods and issues from child support not being paid for her son. She just discovered coupons through me and the deals I post on my facebook account in my notes section. She was so excited about a shopping trip today where she saved over $50.00 and got quote enough razors to last a year for FREE. This would be a blessing for her!
I would love to have the card. I am a mother of 2 wonderful daughters, 9yr and almost 2. The card would be great to use for my youngest’s birthday cake at the end of this month. I love publix cakes. They are SO yummy. =)
Great idea, I know several people that could use this. Thanks
I would use it to spend it on $25 worth of groceries for the ministry..which would get directly to the community food banks or homeless shelters!
I would give the publix gift card to my mothe and dad.. They are suppporting by brother while he is recuperting from a devastting auto accident. This is a long term and expensive undertaking. A help with groceries would be welcome!
A good friend from my husband’s work has recently become seperated. She also has two children of her own and at the same time of the seperation adopted her two twin nephews her sister gave up for adoption. So she has four kids (a 6th grader, 4th grader, and two kindergartners), $60 dollars in the bank, and two weeks ago after spending a week in the hospital with a severe esophageal ulcer (due to stress) she continues to act selflessly. This past week she stayed at a friends home and did a DIY “extreme makeover home edition” as a gift to a friend. Through the stress and sadness she always has a smile and kind word. Her children are always smiling and have excellent manners. I would let her have the $25.00, to just make it even for a moment a little less stressful.
I would have to give the card to myself. We have had two job losses in 2 years and went without a job for two long. $25 is a lot of groceries, especially with all the savings ideas here!! Thanks for the chance>
I am blessed to have a woderful friend who is always doing for others. She never complains, always has a smile on her face, and never expects anything in return for all the things she does. Her husband has been out of work and things are really tight for them right now. I know $25 to spend on groceries would help them out a lot. I would love to be able to do for her like she does for so many others!
I have a friend who is on disability who is wonderful! She just had her 8 year anniversary of being cancer free after having brain and thyroid cancer. She has 2 teenagers and lives on a limited income. She is so giving to others, and has such a sweet soul. I wish I could do more for her to show her how much she means to me, so this would be a great “prize” for all her giving!
I have a friend in need. They have a small child at home and wife is recovering from heart surgery. Dad is doing all he can to make ends meet. I gave them bags of groceries from all my coupon saving but would love to give them something more:) Thanks for sharing as you do.
Brenda
I would love to give this to my best friend who is struggling financially right now and is just starting to coupon. I would challenge her to see how much she can get for $25!!
What an awesome idea! 🙂
I would give the gift card to my mom. She is a senior citizen on a fixed income and has finally realized what good deals you can get at publix. She was strictly a walmart shopper before.
Hubby has been valiantly fighting bile duct cancer for a year — and he goes through A LOT of carrots. Publix carries a 25lb.-bag of organic juicing carrots for $14.99, a price nobody else can touch. We go through 2 1/2 bags a week. I would use the giftcard for carrots!! Thank you for making this offer.
I would give this card to my cousin who is raising 3 young children by herself! She can use any bit of help these days. I often assist her with some of the great deals I get with Q’s, plus I’ve taught her how to use them!
Thanks for offering this awesome gift! : )
I would give a gift card to my sister, a single mother who follows your site and has learned so much about couponing…and she is teaching me!!! I’d love to see how far she could make $25 go!
I would give it to someone shopping at Publix, who looks like they need a pick me up. 🙂
My parents! They really need the help.
I would give this giftcard to my friend Allison who just got married. It will help buy their groceries for their new house : )
So glad that you’re doing this Michelle! Think how many people will feel good by this selfless act! You will feel good when you announce the winner’s name. The winner will feel good, not only because they’ve won, but they will feel good when they give the gift away. The ultimate winner will feel good when they get the gift card to spend, and then all of your loyal ‘fans’ will also feel good at having played a part in this wonderful idea! You really rock!
I would give the card to a family at our church that have four children. One child has health problems and God is healing, but when one problem is healed something else comes along. Mom can’t work with all the doctors appts. she doesn’t have time. Dad is the only one that works.
They could use the gift card very much.
I would give it to my parents. They are very kind and generous.
I would give to this sweet girl that sits next to me at work, she is pregant, is her first baby and it was a surprise for her and her boyfriend, I am sure any help will be welcome
Probably my sister. She is in college… and we all know how a college student will go nuts over free food!
I would love to win this gift card and give it to a wonderful lady that goes to my church. She has been recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a single mom of a teenage daughter and they are currently having a tough time paying the bills. Today our church took up a special love offering for her. I know this would help her. Thanks.
I would give this car to my Brother and Sister-in-law. They are pregnant with thier first child. Shes 34 weeks along and has been in the hospital for over a week on bedrest. This gift card, and my couponing skills, can help them out a lot.
oops, I meant CARD, not car. lol
I’d give it to my baby sister, she is 19 and just moved into her first house!
I would give it to my parents. My mom is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer and my dad just finished 6 weeks of daily radiation. SInce he is her primary care-giver, meals haven’t made it to the table very often lately. The gift card would come in handy for rotisserie chicken, etc to help with pre-cooked meals. Thanks for all you do!
I am a children’s therapist. Many of the kids and families that I work with are very poor. I’ve had kids come in before and tell me that they are hungry and don’t have any food. I would give this away to one of the families that come in in need.
I would give my gift cart to a family of 7 that is moving to open a horse therapy ranch for special needs kids. They are struggling to make ends meet in the setting up this new adventure, but positive the God will meet their needs.
Ranch at the Cross.
A friend is a single parent is struggling feeding a familiy of 5 and this could really help him out
I would give the $25 Publix Gift Card to my step daughter, Amanda. She just had a third baby in three in a half years, this past March. The baby was born with special needs, and just finally came home after four months in the NICU, two weeks ago. This has a significant financial impact to their family, as Amanda has had to quit working to care for this baby. Their family could definately use this hand UP.
I would give my gift card to my sister. She really wants to start couponing, but needs a boost, I think. With the gift card, she would be able to start hitting the BOGO and stockpile deals without feeling like she’s going outside of her comfort zones with different brands than she normally buys.
I would give the card to a friend that just lost her job as at CVS for taking expired coupons. Alhtough she worked nights and I was there only during the day, I had other cashiers at the same store say that they would take expired coupons that weren’t too old because they did not send them in immediately to the manufacturer. I think they were trying to make an example of my friend and she doesn’t even use coupons. She is a single mom and just purchased her first home 2 months ago and is now jobless. Anyway, she could use the card.
I would definitely give this to my parents. They have both lost their jobs, barely getting by on unemployment, don’t qualify for any gov’t assistance, their house has needed repairs so all their extra money has gone to that only to find out their best option is to let it go, they have been doing all their grocery shopping at Aldi and I think they would love the Publix gift card, if not anything else but to treat themselves to some Fresh Meat LOL
I would give the card to my mother. She has always been there for me, even now as an adult. She lost her job last year only being a year from retirement age. She is couponing more than ever now. She is the reason I started couponing. I can remember as a child clipping coupons and searching for the best deals in ads. We were always excited when there was extra money from the budget for a special treat.
I would give it to my friend. We are always swapping coupons and sharing coupons. It’s nice to have someone who is willing to do that for you and your family.
I would give it to my big sister. As the oldest of 7 kids, she always looked out for the rest of us, even into adulthood. Currently, is helping my brother and his kids through a rough spot and any help I can give to provide for additional mouths is greatly appreciated.
I would give the giftcard to a family that lost their house in the Nashville flood.
I would give this gift card to my local Fire Station so that those guys who work there can “treat” themselves to some nice steaks or something. They are way underpaid for the things they have to deal with on their job.
I would give it to my daughter’s pre-school teacher who, after infertility issues, just adopted a baby boy (her first child).
I would give it to my younger sister who is just starting out on her own with her 3 yr. old son! What better way to teach her the couponing ways with a $25 giftcard and show her how much she can get!
My father-in-law past away 2 years ago. My mother-in-law was working part time to support 3 kids but in April she lost her job. She currently is unemployed. She is an awesome person. I couldn’t ask for a better mother-in-law. Always pleasant and so caring. She is trying her best to coupon to save as much money as she can. I would give this gift card to her.
I would give it to my church pantry. We have a lot of families that are struggling to make ends meet these days, and this would really help. 🙂
I would love the gift card to gift to my brother in law and his new family! He just recently lost his job and would be excited to recieve this as a gift! Thanks for the opportunity! 🙂
I would love to give this to my mother in law. She is sixty four years old and works as a stocker at night. She is always there for us and it’s the least I can give her.
I would give it to my mom. She works part time as a church secretary just to have extra spending money. My step father is retired. They both have health issues and I think this would be something she would really appreciate.
I would give it to my husband’s mom for her “congratulations on making it through chemo” gift!!!
I would give it to my Mom! She has yet to be convinced that couponing really is the way to go, so this might be some incentive to get her into Publix so I can show her how to really save!
I go to Publix quite frequently and am usually a great ‘people watcher’…..it never fails that I see one (or more) single moms in the baby aisle contemplating over which generic item that they ‘need’ or hear her say to her youngster, ” No, Honey. We can’t afford to buy that today, so put it back…..” I would like to just randomly walk up to one of those young mothers and hand them the gift of kindness by giving her a gift card!
My daughter, so she can buy some school supplies.
I would give it to my sister! She had a baby and he had several issues at birth… he is fine now, with one exception… he is having to use Ailementum formula …even breast feeding was too much for him…. and it is $29 a can!! She could really use the relief!
I would give my card to my mom…she just got out of the hospital w/ no insurance! She just got a FT job so she is just now able to start catching up again on life and since groceries are one of those things you cant really stop getting or cancel ur subscription to then I would give it to her to help her out a little bit!
I would give it to a co-worker and his wife who just had a kitchen fire and lost everything- including 3 pets. After all the smoke and damage is repaired, they are going to need to stock their cabinets again!
Wow, these stories are incredible. Can we just adopt a family for awhile?? $25 doesn’t go very far! For example, the family with the special needs baby, I think it would be awesome for those who (Like me) do not have babies, to send in diaper coupons to Michelle and use $25 dollars to offset OOP costs with great diaper deals for the baby. Sending a year’s supply of diapers would be so helpful! I would love to see how WE can stretch $25 collectively as a group to help others.
I’ll give it to our local animal shelter (the Georgia SPCA). They are overflowing with tenants and gratefully accept the donations I bring in on a semi-regular basis. I would like to teach them how to coupon and shop sales so they can make their $25 stretch as far as possible, especially on laundry detergent and cleaning supplies.
I would give it to my child’s teacher at preschool. She takes such great care of her all day, and always talks about how she is struggling financially. What a great idea for a giveaway! 🙂
I would give it to my mom, she keeps my kids during the summer so I don’t have to pay for daycare for 3 kids. It will help her buy groceries to feed my kids.
You are so tight! This IS the best giveaway ever!
I know just the right person too.
I have a lady friend who is 87 years old who loves to shop at Publix on Wednesdays for the senior discount. This gift would truely make her day, not to mention, give her fixed budget a real boost!
Thank you so much for this opportunity.

I would give it to a friend that is young and on dialysis. She is on a fixed budget and her family does not help her at all. And she isn’t even 30.
I would donate this gift card to our church pantry. I have been teaching a coupon class (and using your site, with full credit to you, of course!) to many of our church-goers so that they can donate items to the food pantry at the church the way my family has been able to do so. It is a blessing to have your site and information, and the gift card would just be the icing on the cake. The churh also has a private Christian school- which is always accepting food donations for the cafeteria, so this could help our churh in many ways. Thank You for this wonderful opportunity!
I would give the gift card to my brother because he lost his job in construction.
I would donate it to my church…I am sure they could get plenty of use out of it.
I would give it to my coworker. She is such a great mom, such a hardworker & it seems she can’t catch a break lately. I know she is struggling to make ends meet but she always has a smile to share.
I would give the card to my husband’s grandparents. They have been struggling to make ends meet and this would help buy them some groceries.
I would like to give this to our local youth sports group. I congratulate them on keeping our youth sports alive in the struggling economy – and to help keep our young ones active and interested in sports.
My mother’s taken care of me for 30 years since a car accident left me in a wheelchair. I help our budget with coupons, but I wouldn’t mind giving her a “go nuts” gift card just for herself.
I would give it to my mom as a housewarming present!
I would give the $25 gc to my sis-in-law who is just getting into couponing AND has just recently moved to a town that has a Publix. It would help her get her feet wet (and with two babies and one income, they can use the help!)
I would give it to my son – he and his girlfriend struggle with their bills each month and $25 worth of groceries would be appreciated – (of course they would have to use the $25 with coupons to get more… I will show them the way)
I would give this card to my older brother. He has always looked out for me and taken care of me ever since my mother died when I was a child. He struggles every month to pay his bills. He deserves it!
I would give the gift card to Kim, a girlfriend of mine who got me into couponing and your website(s). She is a stay at home mom like me and trying to save for her family. An inspiration. Thanks!
I would give the gift card to my father. Over the past 4 years, he has suffered 4 strokes and can no longer work. My step-mom stays home with him to care/watch him and they are on a very strict fixed income. I often do what I can, but times are tough..for everyone.
I am a teacher. At registration a few days ago, I had one of my students tell me that his single parent mom had an aneurysm this summer and they are struggling financially. I would give it to him to hopefully help them during this difficult time!
I would give the gift card to the security guard at my office. He is so funny trying to figure out the whole couponing thing and goes to both mine and your website for tips. This would absolutely make his day if I could give this to him….maybe give him a little boost with figuring out the couponing game!
I would give the giftcard to my mom. She has had what we call a summer of surgeries and is still going through hand therapy. She deserves to win something after all the pain she has had to endure. I love her. She is a strong woman.
I would give the gift card to a friend of mine whose husband has recently lost his job.
I would probably give it to a random elderly person in the grocery store. The kind that I have seen comparing prices and checking in their wallets to see if they have enough money to get everything in their cart.
I love the idea of giving this to someone else!! I would give this to my Aunt . . . she is single and lives on her own and off of social security so this would definitely be a big help to her to be able to put towards groceries and I would love to see the smile on her face when I give it to her:-)
I would give this to the same very elderly and crippled woman I see walking daily picking up aluminum cans. She clearly has no transportation so I would offer to take her grocery shopping. What a nice giveaway!
I would give this to our nanny. She is amazing!! She has four little girls of her own, and her husband works so hard to support them. She also takes such good care of my son…as if he were one of her own. She also provides all of his meals and snacks while at her home, so I think the gift card would go a long way.
I would give it to my best friend Amanda! She is such an awesome friend! She always makes me smile and I would like to make her smile 🙂
I will give this $25 gift card to my grandmother. She’s on a fixed income & this will help her out alot.
Because I love Publix!!! and love Iheartpublix!!
I would give it to my bestfriend who is an elementary teacher in a low income area. She is starting to prepare her classroom this week and was just telling me how much out of pocket she has to go for thinks like tissues, hand sanitizer and paper towel…she stuggles to ask the children and parents to help her out because most of them are unable to. With this gc she could get all those things and maybe some treats for the kids! 🙂
I would give it to a close friend of mine who has been struggling tremendously for years now just to eat and often has to get groceries from the local church. She would use it wisely!
I have a friend that is on a fixed income. Her son is a downsyndrome, her husband just had another stoke that has affected his speech and is unable to work. Any amount would help their pantry.
Well, right away I thought of my best friend who has 4 kids and is really struggling to make ends meet! Her family is so sweet and just barely getting by!! I then remembered they don’t have Publix by them!
I then thought of a new place down the street that opened called Kids PLace. They do some really great things for kids!!
Great giveaway!
I’ve heard about this guy that dresses like Santa around Christmas and walks around giving out $100 bills to random people he sees that look like they could really use it. I would love to be able to do something like that.
I would give it to my friend who is starting to coupon. She has an 8 month old and her husband is in the US Marshals and has been away for 4 months. They are on an extremely tight budget and this way she could make him something extra special when he comes home
I have a friend that has 5 kids and her husband just went away overseas. (He is in the military) She is unable to work and feeling overwhelmed with the kids. Shopping is a chore for her because all her kids are very young. I made a care package for her including free diapers from cvs, and used my coupons to score great deals at publix. Not only did I give her the care package. I gave her an evening away from the kids by babysitting for an afternoon so she could go to the movies. Those kids wore me out but I felt like I did a good deed. She has no other family here besides her church family so she really needed the break.
I would give it to a family at church – husband just lost his job and they have 4 kids. What a gift this would be!
I would give my gift card to my daughter because her husband just lost his job.
I volunteer/give to a great charity here in TN, Against the Grain. The mission of AtG is to demonstrate the love of Christ to disadvantaged children and single mothers through service and by empowering them to become self supporting, knowledgeable, involved members of society. Mothers go through a 12 month program teaching them budgeting, parenting, spiritual, self esteem, career and leadership skills.
I would donate it to a single mother that will be moving out of assisted housing and into her first apartment.
Our church as a daily email sent to approx. 2000 people. Among other things this email contains prayer requests, most days there are several. It is quite humbling to hear on a daily basis about the serious circumstances people are dealing with, for example, illness, housefires, and unexpected death. It would be difficult to decide but I would give the gift card to someone I hear about from this email.
I would absolutely donate my gift card to my mother-in-law who is fighting lung cancer and undergoing treatments. They have ALOT of medical bills, and are struggling financially. They would love a gift card to help buy her and my father-in-law some groceries. Thanks!
I am currently working with a female client who has stage 4 cancer and is in dire need of anything that she could get for her and her children. She is also a single mom so this is something she could certainly use.
I would give this to a knitterly friend who is having a rough time financially – she has some health issues, but as a nanny – no health insurance to take care of them as she should. I think this would be a great boost for her and perhaps give her some wiggle room on what she could spend on her medical expensis.
A co-worker of ours, Kevin, was recently diagnosed with Luekemia. He has undergone several treamtents and has spent numerous days in the hospital. Thru some great care and the answers to many prayers, he is now in remission and has been approved to receive a bone marrow transplant! 🙂 Unfortunately, every time he goes into the hospital, there is a $500/day copay (max of $2500). Accordingly, he has acquired many medical bills. If I am selected, I would LOVE to give the Publix gift card to my co-worker, Kevin. Thank you for your consideration!
I would give it to my Mother-in-law, she does so much for everyone and I think it would be nice to give her something in return… plus she uses so many coupons at publix she practically gets paid to buy groceries….
I have been raised in the same church all my life and we are in an area that has been tough hit by the bad economy, I would love to use the giftcard to match up with my coupons and buy a great deal of food for our churchs food bank, it is currently running very low and we have had to turn families away, this would be a great chance to help several families.
I just need it and would like to have it thanks
I would give my winnings to my friend Carmen. I met her only 6 months ago and she has already become such a great friend. She taught me how to coupon and I am so grateful. She learned out of necessity when her husband lost his job and they had just relocated to Birmingham. She has three kids (as do I) and manages to run an incredible household on about $45/week. She amazes me. Not only does she have three kids, but she also cleans homes, works part time at Gymboree and has a great website/blog for couponing. She deserves any additional perks she can obtain. I’d love to give her one, from you!
My girlfriend’s 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with Leukemia July 30. They are struggling financially– have 2 other children and a disabled parent at home. They are working 3 jobs between the 2 of them and now have a NEW NORMAL with so many new bills. I believe they would be beyond grateful. I would give it to them….
I would give it to the my girlfriend, who is a third year medical student. She could definitely use it to stock up on coffee!
I would give it to the couple I see panhandling near my home. He is in a wheelchair.
stockpiling for christmas charity…would add this to the box
I am a huge believer in giving back to the world we take from each day. My house is full of teenagers laying by the pool this summer who need this reminded to them. I have been able to “orchestrate” a group of these teenagers to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House 1 time a month. They have to cook a meal for 50 during the week and if their date is a weekend, they cook a meal for 35. I have been successful at getting several of them to shop with me and plan the menu on a budget. It’s amazing what they have never had taught to them about a budget or grocery shopping!! I have been paying for the groceries and would love to share this gift card with those whose life situations have them journey through the Ronald McDonald House.
I’d give it to my sister. Her husband has been out of work for over 2 years and she doesn’t like to ask for help.
I would give it to my friend Jen. She just started learning about couponing and is sooooo excited. I got her hooked on Iheartpublix and now shes officially addicted! 🙂 With her new skills she can sure do a lot with a $25 gift card!
I would give it to either my sister or brother.
I would give it to my sister in law Erin who is expecting her third child.
I would give it to a family like the one I saw the other day. The mom and the children looked really thin and I wanted to pay for the few things they were getting but they were gone before I could do anything. I haven’t forgotten them and I would be on the lookout for a family like this to help them out.
I would give my gift card away to my very close friend Caryn! She is the one who got me into the coupon fun!!! I call her the Coupon Queen. She took the time to show me how to save money with coupons, great deals and also sent me the link to the “I heart Publix” BLOG! 🙂 I think it would be a great way to say thank you to her for showing me how to save 🙂 !
My mom, not only did she raise 8 of us kids but she just recently took a sibling of mine and his entire fam of four back in to help out during their time of need. Great mom! A card would help out im sure!
My husband & I like to look around for people at a restaurant and cover their bill. We had someone do that for us one day, and were so moved by the gesture. We were engaged to be married and tight on money. We had gone to a nice restaurant, sat at the bar and ordered an item to share, which was obviously our dinner. A nice couple had struck up a short, but nice, conversation with us as they were sitting near by. When we went to leave, after they had already left, our bill had already been paid for. 🙂
I would give this giftcard to my daugher who walks one hour every morning with me to keep me healthy.
My friend Nicolette. She is a single mom and she is the one who got me into saving money and using coupons. She deserves a good deal herself! 🙂
Last month, and 11 year old girl in my community who had cancer passed away. Her parents & another cancer mom decided to stock our local children’s cancer clinic with snacks & microwavable meals for the parents & kids who are receiving treatment & are often there all day long in Sarah’s memory. I will either give it to them, or I will use it to buy food to donate to the program!
I would give mine to my grandparents. Due to the economy they were forced into early retirement and now they stay home and watch my twins for a very very reasonable price. I don’t know what I would do without them.
I think that i would use mine to get cheap food and donate to a local food bank.
A friend of mine at work is a single mom so I would take her and her kids shopping for groceries.
I would give it to a family I know who r struggling to get by. They do the best they can with what little they have. I have been teaching the mom to use coupons and her husband thanked me the other day. I was touched !!

I would give it to my mother in law. She is raising my neice and gets no assistance. My mother in law has cancer and struggles to get up and get a 8 year old ready every morning but does it with no complaining.
would love too win this for family members
I would give it to a dear lady that is always giving both her time and money to help others. Where she gets all her energy to do so much for others is beyond me but somehow she does. She is a beautiful lady inside and out. Here name is Connie Gossett. She deserves it!!
I would give this gift card to my parents. They recenly sold their home in FL and took a loss and my father is out of work. They could use some extra grocery money!! 🙂

My folks. They’ve just sent the baby off to school, and this child is costing them big!!! My other sibling and I paid our way, seeing as how my folks are, well, broke, but now they are cowering under an impending wave parent student loans. They have never been in this situation before, and I would love to give them some more help! 🙂
I would give it to my mother-in-law. She is always giving ME something! August 8 is my birthday, and it would be fun to give her a Publix gift card on my birthday! Publix is her favorite grocery store.
I would give it to a friend who is a single mom.
I WOULD GIVE THE CARD TO MY DAUGHTER WHO IS GETTING MARRIED THIS SATURDAY 8-7.
I would give my gift card to my cousin as part of her wedding gift as she is going to need to fill her cupboards!!!
Hi…I would give my gift to a friend of mine that recently got laid off from work and she is a single parent. I know it would come in handy for food or personal items for her and her daughter.
Hi! So excited for the recepient of this gift! I just moved to this area and just recently met this lovely lady. She has 8 children. Her husband had a stroke, and has been unable to work, collect unemployment or disability. They have been systematically selling their belongings and things donated to them to sell, literally for food. She is losing everything. She is one of those people that continues to give whatever she has despite her circumstances. She even offered to watch my kids as I looked for a job. Thank you for your generosity!!!
I would give it to the food pantry at our church. There is always something needed and they can not always help everyone that needs this service.
I’d give the card to The Special Needs School of Gwinnett County! They need snacks for the kids during the school year!
I would give it a friend and her family who are raising money and preparing to leave for full time missions to Africa.
I would give it to my neighbor. She is always making great food and sharing it with me. I love it when she calls and says “I made XXX, do you want to try it?” Of course I say yes! I have to try something I don’t like. She shops at publix so she will use the gift!
I WOULD GIFT TO A FAMILY IN NEED AT MY CHURCH. I AGREE IT IS BETTER TO GIVE THEN RECEIVE. THANKS!

I have a friend that is going through some tough times, trying to find a job and make ends meet in the mean-time. I would give it to her.
I’d give this card to Carissa! She is the lovely little lady who taught me how to coupon. She recently found out that she is pregnant with her 3rd, and she has the biggest heart. She often shops for others, and she gives a lot of her stockpile away. I wish I could buy her a dinette set, because her family sits at a beat up old hand me down table, with mis-matched chairs. Since I can’t afford that, a gift card would be a wonderful Thank You to her for teaching me about Iheartpublix!!!
My mom!! Because she allowed me to move back home for several years in order for me to be able to pursue my dream of finishing my masters’ degree!! She always cooks for me and I would love to have her get the gift card to buy something that I could cook for her!!
My co-worker just had his second baby. His wife’s vetinary practice is about to go under. Things are tough all round and $25 would buy a lot of diapers and a little breathing room.
My dear friend…She has a 3yr. old and a 1 yr. old…and just had a miscarriage at 8wks. She had a DNC and is now having back problems. Insurance doesn’t cover her chiropractor visits ($500) so she had to make a decision with her husband as to what to do next. This would help them out!

I would give this to my mother. She has taken care of me financially on her own for most of my life and now that I coupon and am independent, I always love to pass the deals on to her to help her save. It’s my way of now helping her financially. 🙂
