Do the math before participating in “Buy theirs get ours promo”. This past week the the deal was buy Quakers oatmeal and get publix oatmeal free.
If you bought the Quakers instant it was $3.89 per box and you get theirs for free. Even if you used $1.00 Quaker coupon, you still paid out of pocket $2.89 plus tax. $2.89/2 boxes(quaker + publix)=$1.45 each.
At same time, Kroger has Quaker instant oatmeal on sale for $1.98. If you use 2- $1.00 off coupon on 2 boxes, you pay .98 per box. $.98*2 boxes= $1.96.
