🙁 The $1/2 TARGET Nabisco coupon is no longer available.
and also the walgreens Q sizes aren’t a match.
Just wanted to share a horrible experience I had at the Bardmoor (Largo, FL) Publix tonight. I went to buy the WW Smart Ones and had a $3.00/10 manufacturer peelie and a $4.00/10 Target coupon. The man that was bagging my groceries happened to work in the back office and told the cashier I was not allowed to stack my coupons. I asked him if the rule had changed in the last 7 days b/c I had always been allowed to stack. He adamantly said I was not allowed. I asked for the manager and was told that she was in the back and not feeling well. He said he would go ask her. He came and stated that I COULD stack a peelie with a target coupon but that if I brought a manufacturer coupon from home, I could not stack it. I When I asked if the coupon rules had changed, he said miss, “They change every week”. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this or heard if the rules are changing.
I havn’t had something THAT bad happen, but this week the old grouchy lady cashier I had tried to hand me back my Salsa coupon and told me “more coupons then items”….I handed it right back to her and said “then get the manager for an override!!!!!!!!”. The (super nice) manager came out and said “Hi! How are you guys?” and smiled and me and my shopping partner. The cashier explained the problem and she said, “oh, thats fine, no big deal” and even scanned my 2 $5/$25 Savealots before she went back to her office =)
HAHA! Grouchy Old Cashier!
I was told a couple of months ago, by the manager ( Lithia, FL) that they were not going to allow me to stack my man. coupon w/ a store coupon if the man. coupon said ” limit one coupon per purchase” The reason was that they were no longer going to “pay for everyone’s groceries” with the overage. On this particular day, I had a lot of items with stacked coupons and my total was about $3.00 for a pretty close to full cart. Everything was bagged already and I explained that I would be returning everything in the cart because I have everything figured to what I should pay and that this is all of the sudden a “new rule”. The manager said that she would allow it this time but in the future to check my man. coupons(for the fine print) because they will not take them. It seems that they change the rules as they go, especially if you have a cart full of groceries and it seems(to them) like your total is way to low, then they start changing there policy. Hey, Lithia Publix, just want to let you know that you are 5 min. away from my house and I pass you by every week to shop at a diff. Publix. You need to get a policy and stick w/ it!
Amen, Amen, Amen! There are 3 different Publix stores near my home (Metro Atlanta) and each one has a different coupon policy! I get so frustrated I could spit!
I know, sooooo frustrating, I dont get it.. Publix puts their coupon out for XX amount and has obviously decided its an acceptable amount to take a hit on, then when you stack the manuf coupon they get reimbursed..makes absolutely no sense at all, it must be they just dont understand how coupons work!!
I’ve been passing by my closest Publix for a year now to go to one that is 20 minutes farther away, because the closer one is wayyyy toooo strict about what they will accept. They refuse to take Target, and they spend more time checking my coupons than I spend shopping. It’s frustrating to spend 1 hour shopping, then stand at the register for 90 minutes while they bicker about whether or not to take a given coupon. Thank goodness for the other store!!! They are wonderful, and one of their employees even offered to go and buy an item at Target for me because Publix didn’t carry it. Can you imagine that???
Millie, I read your post yesterday, but needed to stop at the Lithia store for at least some milk last night. I also picked up some coupon deals. I stacked the Target oatmeal q with the manuf q without a problem. I did have an incident in mid-December when they didn’t want to take my $5/$50 until AFTER they rang through my manf q. My total came to $45 after manf q. The cashier said she would ask the manager and he let her take it off. Whew!
I’ve had problems like that with the 66th and 38th ave store. It is the management that makes a store coupon-unfriendly. You need to call the district manager and complain. Publix’s coupon policy states you can stack mq with a store/or competitor q. Right now, the stores in our area are taking Target as a competitor, so that was a legitimate deal. (I expect at some point they will stop taking Target q’s , but that’s just my opinion.)
One way they can crack down is, if the cashier doesn’t pull the peelie off, then they can say no to using it. (I have seen peelies have the wording that it must be removed by the cashier.)
They’ve really come down hard on us in this county. I also have a store that I will NOT go into, and unfortunately it is the one closest to me. I don’t mind driving to one that doesn’t treat me like I’m a crook when I use my coupons according to their policy.
To share with the group…I wrote to Publix via thier website a couple of weeks ago when I started seeing that the policy might be changing. Fellow savers in my coupon group (and here) started getting upset…but we were really not sure what the change would be. Within days, I had the district manager call me and assure me that Publix was not doing anything drastic. They would still allow for 1 MQ and 1 Competitor Q, and in her words, “even if this results in an overage!” She was very friendly (as I have grown to expect from most of my Publix experiences!) and said that the only thing changing in the new year was that Corporate would be providing a little more clarification to the front line clerks on what stores would be considered competitors. Since hearing from her just before the holidays, I have had no problems with using MQs or any store coupons. I am hoping that Corporate is reading this blog…and hearing our voices.
Thanks for all the work with this! My house is pretty stocked up, so I don’t have to go crazy with this short ad.
My local publix is now only allowing one $X/$XX coupon per transaction. So I am just making more than one trip a week! Looks like I will only need to make one with this ad!
I’m with you Annette. My shopping list is “light” this week too with this short ad week…but I’m already making my list for next! Happy 2011 and Savings this year!
Thank you so much for all of your work on these weekly ads! I am new to couponing and a fellow Publix shopper referred me to your website when she saw me comparing my coupons in the store! I’ve read your posts for a month now and just want to let you know how much I appreciate it! I love trying new foods that I would have not considered before, thanks to all the savings!
Is anyone else having problems getting ANY of those Yoplait links to work??? I can’t get a single yoplait coupon from those links up there! :-/
There is a yoplait coupon here:
http://www.couponnetwork.com/
Thanks, Holly.
Anyone having a problem when you click on the 2/$.60 Old El Paso coupon? I click on it, then it takes me to myblogspark.com and says I’ve already printed the coupon, which I have not. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this. Thank you, Michelle for all of your hard work! Love your site!
Yes, that happened to me too, but then I tried it the next day & it worked just fine, I guess just try it again, hope it works…
I’m confused as to how we can use a coupon that expires on 12/31/10 if the ad doesn’t even start until 1/1/11?? Am I missing something?
Some stores will still take expired coupons. Mine does, especially if it’s within a week or two of the expiration date.
Wish I could find a store in the Orlando area that would take expired manufacture coupons….Any ideas?
My PUBLIX will take expired PUBLIX coupons…
How long will this ad run? till Wednesday?
THANK YOU 4 ALL YOU DO!
I am in the East Orlando area and I have not found store to take expired coupons either. They have also implemented the policy on not taking a $5/$25 coupon (for example) till the end of an order. I insist on handing them my coupons in groups instead of all at once, so no mistakes are made. It is getting harder and harder to save a Publix.
The second Chicken Sausage coupon is all gone 🙁
I just printed it!!!
Hi there!
Just a quick question. For the vitamin water 10/$10 and the B1G1 free coupon. Do I need 5 of those coupons or will one work for all 10 items?
Thanks so much.
You need one B1G1 coupon for every 2 waters you buy. But you don’t have to buy 10 total to get the deal, you just get them for $1/pc. Its called deceptive advertising – makes people think they need to buy 10 for the deal.
Good question… I was also curious how to get the 10 free waters without 10 coupons…
I can’t find the quaker oats coupon in today’s Red Plum circular.
Thanks for a great website!
My math on the Nabisco 100 calorie cookies is different. B3G1 means you have to pay $4.79 for 4 boxes. After the $1/2 and $1/2 wyb milk, the total comes to $2.79, totaling $0.70 per box. Anyone get anything different?
That’s what I’m getting (1/2 price bogo)! Some stores do TRUE BOGO, so the deal would be better!
Box 1 $3.19
Box 2 FREE PUBLIX
Box 3 FREE TARGET
BOX 4 FREE PUBLIX
-$1/2 (if you are buying milk)
(the $1/2 TARGET coupon is no longer available!)
so, $.55 ea. in the land of TRUE BOGO!
What a great way to explain the B3G1 and using coupons with it!! Those always stump me but you explained it very well! Thanks!
What zip code do you use for the Quaker Oats coupon? I do not see it.
because all of the prints for the oats are all gone!!!!
Are some coupons regional? I cant find a few of them. Was thinking I should buy the Atlanta paper – currently buy the Athens paper. Example of one I cannot find is Wisk…
I live in the Tampa area and I have to buy the Tampa Tribune instead of the St. Pete Times because of the coupons. Tampa has a lot more and higher priced than the St. Pete, which makes no sense to me.
Cannot find the Target Quaker Oats coupon. Anyone else find it?
Did you look under “show all”?
I do not see the Quaker Oatmeal Target Coupon. Is it still available?
