Well guys, this year is almost over so it is time to start tallying the year end totals. I am always excited to see how I do each year. It is fun to keep track just to see what couponing means for my family. Once again I am absolutely astonished at what a little bit of time and effort can do!!
I am sitting on a few gift cards that I will be using over the next couple of weeks so I already know what I have spent this year…I will share my totals very soon 🙂
I did pretty good this week considering I threw in a few items that were completely unnecessary. I wanted to make some chocolate covered pretzels and my husband requested Nutter Butters (which were not cheap!) The funny thing is…I almost spent as much on 2 packages of cookies that I did on 20 cartons of milk!!
The Smart Balance deal came just in time for me to re-stock! I had just used the last carton this week and now I have 20 more half gallons that do not expire until late February. That should be just about what we will use!
This week I spent $20.55 for $214.58 worth of groceries. That means I saved about 90% this week which is not bad in my book!
How did you do this week? Leave a comment or link to your weekly totals.
I don’t know if I am the only one seeing double or triple (I hope so), but if you do too, please erase the duplicate entries Michelle. I refreshed the page to make sure it was there, and then all of a sudden there were duplicates. I apologize for the inconvenience.
You did absolutely fantastic Michelle, and yes that SmartBalance deal is fabulous. I sure I had an extra fridge, because I only have room for six at a time:(
I think that one important part about being frugal is that we need to know when to splurge…
Happy Holidays to you and your family!

I would like to know what each column stands for? For us that are new to couponing and tracking it would be helpful to see a column title… sale price/reg price or whatever each stands for. I would love to do this type of thing but am having a difficult time following what exactly is being tracked. Thank you. 🙂
That’s a great idea! I am new to this blog – so it would help me too! That’s an excellent spreadsheet to keep! I’m impressed – and not just with the savings! 😀
product
quantity of products purchases
price of product
price x quantity
coupon deduction
price of product after coupon savings

I think my new spreadsheet for the site may be ready for the new ad…I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed!!
Thanks! Another thought to share your spreadsheet is google docs. It’s free to use and you can make your document public to anyone who has the link and just post the link for people to check out…. Not sure how you are loading it now.
I will be done getting my coupon binder organized tomorrow and then will be starting on my pricebook and tracking. Where I live now we are not blessed with double coupons but we are supposed to be moving to GA within a couple of months and I have already scoped out the store (via the web) to find the ones that double! I’m excited!
So you really spent $70.55 cause you had a gift card that most people would have not had.
No …I really only spent $20 something 🙂 I base my totals on what I pull from MY grocery budget. The gift card was a gift and I chose to use it on groceries to reduce the impact on my grocery funds. I share my totals as a way to keep me accountable and also to help people see that budgeting and couponing can be a great way to save money for your family. It is not a competition…In my opinion if you save 50¢ a week…that is money that can be used elsewhere 🙂
Sorry, but I am with Scrooge on this one.
Oh! I see your point now. My trip was $164.00 for $47.00 and that was only with BOGO and coupons!
I agree with you Michelle. I paid for my $27 in groceries this week with a Christmas gift card so I consider this weeks shopping free! It did not come out of my weekly food budget.
AWESOME week!!
Wow! How do u get that much groceries for $21.55? I coupon, but not that well, I must be missing something. Please share your secret! I’ve been. Out of work since March n my husband lost his job in Nov. Thanks
Wow, how do you get that much groceries for so less. I am couponing, but not that good. I lost my job in Mar and my husband lost his in Nov. Can you please share how you do this!
Thanks
Notice she also had a $50 gift card. And if you live in GA – they double coupons. Her store may take some competitor Q’s that yours might not. My Publix won’t stack competitor with MFQ anymore. Lots of little variances make a big difference.
Excellent week!!! My bill at Publix yesterday before coupons was $103.67. I paid $27.99. Needless to say, I think that was a GREAT week. Thanks for all you do to help me achieve my goals!!
I did good this week…..$126 of groceries for only $31!!!!!!! It was a 73% savings =)
(and that includes $4 mistake because my oatmeal didnt ring up B1G1..I need to go back and fix it!!! and I got bagels (for all that cream cheese!) for $4 not on sale and coconut sprinkles for my daughters class because they made a gingerbread house today!)
I had two big savings at Publix this week. One shopping trip my total came out to be $115 and I paid $41.23 and my second I paid $112 and saved $120!
I spent $19.09 for $128.43 worth of groceries, saved $109.34 = 85%
I spent $83 for $213 worth, saving $130 or 61%. Any week ovet 50%, I am happy 🙂
Me, too! I’m at 56% this week. Still happy.
I spent $27 and saved $74 on my Publix trip today. There were a bunch of BOGO deals and a bunch of coupons. Thanks for the blog. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you and great savings this week!!!!
Did i miss something, i was wondering where you got the5/50 coupon im now feeling very forgetful…..
I just added up my savings from May until now and I have saved 70% for the year. Thank you for all you do Michelle! I just wish I knew how to coupon sooner!
