I hope you all have had a great week. The weather is supposed to be kinda junky this weekend and I am hoping we don’t see any snow or ice…fingers crossed! We’ll be at a swim meet for a good part of tomorrow so I think I’ll join all the crazies and stop by the store afterward to get a few things—just in case!
My big news for the week is that I need glasses–YUK!
I am kinda bummed about this for several reasons. First, it is a bummer as it just says that old age is trying to creep in. My eyes have been super tired by the end of the day and things are definitely blurry so I know I need them. But the main reason that I am not thrilled is the fact that I can NOT stand wearing glasses. It’s not anything to do with how they look…I just can’t stand them on my face! I very rarely wear sunglasses because them sitting on my nose/ears just about drives me bonkers.
My husband insists that I will get used to them but I don’t know if I believe him. You would think that I would have gotten used to wearing sunglasses in my 40+ years and that hasn’t happened!
Apparently I am getting progressive lenses that I really only have to wear when I am at the computer, reading, etc. The doc said that contacts may be a possibility…but of course I’d have to wear those all the time. So–I am just not sure what will come of it all. My new glasses will be here in a few weeks and then I guess I’ll just see how it goes. If any of you guys have tips for me–bring them on!!
Stay warm this weekend and try to get out and do something FUN! If you want to share your weekly totals, leave a comment.
I’m not looking forward to the icky weather either but I am sure you’ll look great in glasses, plus I agree with your husband – I’ve had to wear them for the past couple years and you do get used to them. This week at Publix I stocked up on frozen entrees, breakfast items and snacks for 62% off http://shopperstrategy.com/my-1-16-publix-trip-97-06-for-37-54-or-62-off/
Getting older is not for the faint of heart is it, haha! I can relate! I hope you adjust well to your new glasses. Life has gotten very hectic for me and I can not keep up with printing coupons, but I still check your sight regularly and hope to get back into it soon. I love reading your Friday post. Have a wonderful weekend!
I was exactly like you and thought I could not do it but here I am 15 years later and I did get used to them very quickly.
These glasses were the best ever invented. They really take very little time for your eyes to know where to look and adjust . Makes life so much easier. Once you get used to them you will wonder how you ever did without them…..LOL Give it some time.
You so right, YUK! But like Nora says best ever invention. You will love the way your head feels after the first – second day. Thanks for all the computer time you put in for us 🙂
