I want to share my Walmart shopping trip today. Yes I know my site is devoted to Publix–but, I want to share the trip to illustrate a point. Right now on www.coupons.com there are some excellent coupons for various games and some LeapFrog toys. Toys R Us and Target have items on sale this week that match these coupons. I decided to take the coupons to Walmart since they will price match competitor pricing– that way I would not have to run to several stores.
I was able to get the following:
Gator Golf $12.99 – $5 coupon = $7.99
Elefun $12.99- $5 = $7.99
Leapster System $29.99 – $10 = $19.99
LeapFrog Tag System $39 – $10 = $29
Tag Book $9.99 – $5 = $4.99
Leapster Game $15- $5 = $10
Total OOP = $80 + tax
I did not NEED any of these toys! So why buy something I don’t need right now? I bought them because I WILL need them at some point in the future. I was able to get all of these toys for about 1/2 price what I would have paid at a later date. Now, I have a closet full of toys that I can pull out when I need them.
My point …sometimes it is best to get things when they are on sale so when you DO need them you don’t have to pay full price. I stockpile items when they are free or cheap. Instead of having to run to the grocery store when I need an item–often I can just go to my stockpile closet and grab what I need! When you see something on sale-it might be a good idea to get some for today and some to use tomorrow!
