This has been a whirlwind of a week!  Whenever there is a holiday during the week, I am always thrown off a bit!  With my husband home on Monday and this being the boys first week of school, my schedule is completely out of whack!  Top it off with the fact that soccer starts tomorrow and I am a mess 🙂  The only way I exist (and maintain any sanity) is with lots of lists and a good schedule…so I added “create a new schedule” to my to do list for this weekend –tee hee!!
I really did not do much shopping this week.  I had hoped to pop by Publix on Wednesday before the sale ended…but never made it!  So I just decided to wing it this week and make meals from what I had on hand!   I went through every fresh fruit and veggie in the house!! I had to break open a can of fruit and a jar of applesauce—neither of which was pleasing to my little one.  I think he is having banana withdrawals, so I will have to do a big stock up next week.  I really think it is time to take inventory and figure out what I need to replenish my stockpile…then hope that the upcoming sales match my needs!
This week I spent $36.18 for about $60 worth of groceries.  My totals would have been less but my husband decided that we needed to cook burgers on Labor Day.  I had plenty of ground turkey in the freezer, but he requested beef…so that is what we did.  So that means I only saved about 40% this week.  I think once I get my schedule figured out, I will get back into the swing of things.  Hey, at least I am under budget this week 😉
Here is what I purchased for about $36
