When Brandi over at MyCouponKeeper emailed me about trying out her coupon storage system I was immediately interested. You see I have been carrying the same black expandable file for quite a while now. I kept my coupons inside plastic zip pouches within the binder. I have not been thrilled with my binder for some time now. It is big and cumbersome and most of my plastic pouches no longer zip and many are torn. So, I quickly emailed her back and agreed to check it out!
When I got the MyCouponKeeper system, I first noticed that the box was nice and sturdy. I really liked the pre-printed labels with thick sturdy dividers as well as the small plastic insert boxes. I was most impressed by the fact that everything was of great quality. I will admit that I was afraid that I would get something that looked cheap but honestly the package was quite the opposite! I was impressed that even the take to store purse size folder has been professionally printed (not just stickers!)
So after checking it out my next thought was the size. I looked at my massive binder, then at the MyCouponKeeper and figured that maybe half of my coupons would fit! The MyCouponKeeper is about a quarter of the size of my binder so I decided to pick my top 10 categories that I use most often and I began filing them in the box. I was shocked that by the time I was done I had not even filled half of the box!! So, I kept filing and before I knew it all of my coupons were in the box AND I had room to spare!! I had so much room that I could even fit one of the small storage bins inside the box with the coupons!!
The system comes with a take to store purse size folder which I think is a great idea. Basically, you put the coupons you intend to use on the left side of the binder then move the ones you will definitely be use to the right side to present to the cashier!! I have been using a plastic bag…so this is perfect! You could also use one of the insert boxes if you wanted to. I decided to use one of my boxes as my priority coupon box. I put all the “good” coupons that I definitely want to use in the box (high value or necessary product coupons) and then I can flip through it quickly each week to see what I might want to grab. What an easy way to keep tabs on the coupons so I make sure to use them before they expire!!
Overall I am thrilled with this new system. I think it is very easy to use. I like the tabbed dividers and it allows for quick access to your categories. I am most thrilled with the size! I carry a hobo style bag and I know I could get the entire CouponKeeper box in my purse. I can really only think of one thing that might make this system perfect. I would have liked for the box to have a handle. Maybe it is because I am used to my handle on my old binder?? If that is the only flaw it is minor and does not detract from the system at all! I think this is a fabulous system and would highly recommend it to old and new couponers alike!
If you would like to get your own MyCouponKeeper, Brandi is offering my readers a Free Purse Sized Folder with every kit purchased-just use the code IHeartPublix in the special instructions box at checkout! Head on over to MyCouponKeeper to check it out, I think you all will love it!
Disclosure: I was provided a MyCouponKeeper system to assist in the review of the product. All comments and opinions are my own.
I have made a device called the Snip and Saver, it attaches to your grocery cart handle so that way you can put your used mani and comp coups in separate pockets and then on the backside a bigger pouch for unused coups so that way you can refile after you get home….i have made quite a few of these and are available in many differant material patterns…..i do sell these for $10.00 a piece….if anyone is interested picture can be emailed to you……
Do you have a link to view it somewhere?

I would also love to know a website and/or more information too. Thanks.
Looks very sturdy! Thanks!!
At 34.99 thats a little to pricey for my budget. I used a shoebox after flipping between my binder and an accordian file. I loved my shoebox but it just didn’t hold up well. I bought a rubermade plastic shoebox that looks remarkably similar to this expensive box and only paid 1.49 on clearance for it. I love your deals, but when I struggle so hard to get by, these deals seem a little extravagant.
34.99??? I don’t think so! That’s a bit outrageous for a folder I can get for a quarter and some file boxes that I can get at any craft store, or even walmart. I will pass on this! Especially since I would have no room for it since I put my toddlers in the seat of the cart.
I probably would have purchased this but the shipping was very high – $9 🙁
Thank you for posting this! I have been in search of a new way to organize my coupons. Currently, I use a binder. My coupons are everywhere because I dread putting them in the pockets of my trading card sheets each week. My binder cost me nearly $50 to build. After reading your review it seems much more my style! If I can get my coupons back in order, it will pay for itself.
THANKS AGAIN!!!
Way too expensive. Looks like a plastic box and some folders. Almost $45 after shipping is a lot to pay for someone to slap their logo and a few category labels on something for me.
It is very nice, but I agree with the others, it is pricey. I use an estee lauder pouch (which was a freebie with make up purchase) with a handle on top which is basically the same shape as the box and added my own dividers from cut up file folders. Works like a charm.
I teach Xtreme Couponing classes in south FL and will add this link to my class handouts! Like to give them options!!
Yikes, that is expensive! It also looks like if you bumped it off the table or desk or dropped it that your coupons would all go flying out and all over the place. I use a Sterilite Fliptops plastic box with business envelopes. I labeled the flaps of the envelopes with categories and put them in the order of my store. Total cost, maybe $3. The coupons go in the envelopes and are closed but not sealed. I use another business envelope to hold the coupons I’m taking to the store. Those I need to give to the cashier get paperclipped to the flyer, those I end up not using stay in the envelope to get refiled at home.
Do you have a picture of what you have created? I have a Sterlite small box that I bought with my overage. I use envelopes within the box but am interested in another way. I don’t see myself using the binder as it’s too bulky. I have a little ‘case’ that started with but it didn’t have room to hold my calculator, pen, paper, etc.
Thanks!
I brought this last week and it is perfect for me. I would have spent more time and gas then this cost to trying and find everything this comes with and the quality of everything.. My son even tried to us it as a step stool didn’t even crack.. try finding that quality in a cheap box. I am a beleiver you pay for what you get!!
Great idea/product but it is a little bit pricey for me too. Would be a great way to organize, I just can’t see spending that much money for it.
Thanks for letting us know that it’s an option though.
I actually bought one of these a couple of months ago because I did not have time or money to waist trying to create something to work. It is fabulous. The box is extremely sturdy and the folders for your purse are awesome. I just used mine again this morning. The one thing that I just love about the purse folder is that I can flip through my coupons without pulling them out and dropping them. Then when I get to the register I just pull out all of the ones on the right side and hand them to the cashier. Easy as pie. Even if you are just dabbling in coupons you can make your money back in one grocery shopping trip. It is absolutely worth it.
My husband bought me a couponizer last year for Christmas.I like it, but it
is falling apart.Brandi’s system lloks nice, but I want something where I
can carry all the coupons, not just pull out a few and put in a folder.Sometimes I run into sales I didn’t know about and need to have all
coupons handy. I did think it was a little expensive not even knowing about
the 9.00 shipping.Sorry Brandi 🙂
Just wanted to let all of you know, I ordered this coupon system last week from Couponing to Disney’s site. Got it and love it!!! Well worth the money I spent! As a matter of fact, I saved double what it cost my first shopping trip using my coupon keeper. It was so easy to set up and so sturdy. Wow and the time I saved in the grocery store was great!! No more piles of cut coupons and no fumbling for coupons for me, Yea!!!
great idea, Brandi! There are parts of it I like and parts that wouldn’t work for me. I like to be able to see my coupons, page by page, so the binder works for me. But, I hear ya about clipping and inserting into the pockets 🙂
I LOVE the shopping folder idea. Sometimes the stores don’t always have what I have clipped coupons for and it is a pain to try to take them out of my envelope and try to find someplace to put them. They usually end up in the bottom of my purse. Good for you for designing a system that helps make your coupon shopping simple and for offering it to others. Chances are great that there are lots of people who will benefit from your idea. Best of luck to you and your business!
You should try the Couponizer … it’s a great tool for organizer your coupons.
@ Gina – I bought the couponizer b/c of the reviews and didn’t hold all my coupons. I wish I knew that before I wasted $25 on it. 🙁
I have used an accordian style box that I got for $10 at Office Max a year ago. I labeled all of the tabs into catergories and added some #10 envelopes in the back. When I plan a shopping trip, I put all my coupons and shopping list in an envelope and put it in the front of the box. I have no trouble finding my coupons, the box holds LOTS, and I got compliments on it whereever I go.
Michelle, thank you for sharing this. I love to see new coupon organization ideas! However, this one is a little pricey.
If you head to Michaels or Hobby Lobby with a 40% or 50% coupon you can score these plastic containers at a pretty good price. They are located in the scrapbooking storage area. They are intended to store pictures. You, of course, won’t get the deviders or little folder though. Hope this helps out those that thought it was too pricey.
The couponizer is GREAT quality! In the past my “tabs” for various categories became worn and I only knew what category I was flipping to from memory. The quality of the couponizer and the amount of coupons it holds is GREAT. As for putting it together yourself…it’s hard to find a box on the market that when you drop it disaster does not occur. Personally, I do not consider this a splurge as the time and money saved from it is money in my pocket. We coupon for several reasons and one of them is so that we can buy things that we usually would not purchase. Afraid I’m beginning to sound like an infomercial 🙂 No I am not paid or related to the couponizer company!! 🙂
cute
I have been using this system for about a year. My favorite thing about it, is that it fits perfectly in the front of my shopping cart. It holds all of my coupons perfectly so that I have them with me at all times. I keep my box in my car for quick shopping trips. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!
I received my order yesterday and have spent today reorganizing my coupons! I’m very impressed! All of my coupons fit and it seems so easy to use. My favorite part is the purse-sized folder! I can’t wait to put it to use! Thanks for posting this!
I ordered this product and while I do like the idea, the price is too high. This is an Iris photo storage box that can be purchased at many online sites for MUCH less. Also, there is no way it will hold 1800 coupons. Buy a box and make your own dividers and you’ll save a lot of money, which is the whole idea of coupon shopping……
I have been couponing for about 3 years now and I’ve never been as organized as I am now. I ordered this system when you posted it almost a month ago and I just love it! Thank you for sharing this with us!
