Popcorn is a staple here at my house. I typically always have a big bag of popcorn in the pantry for quick and easy snacking. And when movie night rolls around, we don’t press play until everyone has a big bowl of popcorn in their lap.

Regular popcorn is fine when you need a snack in a flash, but whenever possible, I like to take my snack to the next level. When it comes to popcorn, it’s crazy easy to add BIG flavor.

Caramel popcorn and candy popcorn are always great to satisfy my sweet tooth. Cheese flavored popcorn is popular here as well. But the ultimate way to enjoy popcorn is with a huge batch of Bacon Ranch Popcorn! This is by far the favorite version of flavored popcorn that I make. So with game day just around the corner, I thought I’d share my recipe so you have a quick and delicious snack for your Big Game get together.

I like this recipe for game day because it’s ready in just minutes AND you can easily adjust the amount you make to feed a few or a ton of people.

The recipe below is the family-sized version. But, if you have a big group for game day, simply triple or quadruple the recipe and you are in business!

Total time:
Ingredients
  • 8 cups of popped popcorn
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning
  • 6 slices of Hatfield Bacon, cooked crisp and finely chopped
Instructions
  1. Place the popcorn in a large bowl.
  2. Mix the butter and ranch seasoning together and pour over the popcorn.
  3. Add the finely chopped bacon and toss to coat.

The key to that amazing flavor is the Hatfield Bacon.

For over 125 years, Hatfield has believed in doing the right thing, not the new thing. In this case, that means raising their animals on family farms with no added hormones or steroids for growth. It’s a product you can feel good serving to your family and friends all season long.

Available in three delicious varieties, you can use any that you love for a game day snack that is sure to please!

  • Applewood Smoked Classic Cut Bacon
  • Hardwood Smoked Thick Cut Bacon

For my Bacon Ranch Popcorn recipe, I just bake the Hatfield bacon until crispy. But you can fry it up if you’d prefer.  And if you want to be prepared for big appetites, simply cook some extra bacon. Finely chop the bacon and use what you need for the first batch and refrigerate the rest. When you toss the cold bacon with the warm popcorn and melted butter, it will warm back up and taste amazing. AND if you want it piping hot, just spread it all out on a baking sheet and bake at 350º for 10 minutes and then serve!

I am already planning ahead and will need several packages of Hatfield Bacon for my game day feast. Head into Publix and get everything you need to make your game day GREAT!
