I did more shopping than usual this week. We had tons of appointments and errands this week so while we were out I did a few stops along the way! I spent way more than I usually spend but I feel like I got a good amount for the money. Looking at my list I probably could have skipped out on a few items but they were still a decent deal. I managed to add 15 pounds of chicken to my freezer, 11 boxes of baby wipes and various pantry items. I also still have $18 worth of Register Rewards that I will either use to buy more wipes or reduce my totals at Publix next week…not sure which yet 🙂
This week I spent $38.31 out of pocket for $284.51 worth of products which is an 87% savings this week. I am A-Ok with that! The spreadsheet below is a compilation of all of my shopping this week. Here is what I got for $38.31:

Update: Larry Patch is no longer the store manager. New manager is >Wendy Bowers.

On 1/11/11 I came into the Malabar store #00424 to cash an out-of-state personal check for $60.00 which I have cashed at your store before, and which I have cashed before at other publix stores, but was not able to do so. I was told by CaryAnn Hunley that I could not cash an out-of-state check at Publix unless I purchase groceries and then she hesitated even about that. She clearly gave me a hard time. I stood there and wasted 10 minutes explaning to her that I have cashed them before with no problem. She stared at the check and questioned the bank that I do business with and she was looking for an 800 number to call the bank to verify my account. I was so surprised at her disminer and how I was treated as a customer of Publix. I do shop at Publix and I believe I am a good customer, but obviously, I will not shop at Malabar Rd store again. I was treated with fast and curtious respect when I cashed my check at the Publix store on Babcock and Palm Bay. Road. I had to go out of my way to cash a simple check.

Just to let everyone know, this store does not accept Food Lion or Albertsons coupons anymore, but does accept Target and BJs.
This store now accepts Save a Lot, Winn Dixie and Target as it’s competitors.
Just an update on the Store Manager Mr. Larry Patch passed away in August 2012.
