Another great week of deals! I decided to do things a bit different this week. I wanted to grab the Electrasol so I did the majority of next week’s shopping today! So, my weekly totals are a bit higher than I anticipated but I am more than pleased with my results for the week. I am very happy to have been able to restock the Hebrew National Franks–The 11 packages I purchased will last about 8 -10 months in my house and as an added perk they will allow me to obtain the ConAgra MIR.
Although I shopped today I will still need a few items next week. I was able to get rainchecks for the Electrasol and the Chinet Plates today…so I will be able to grab those items and a few other things and still get the penny item next week. My total this week includes a few items from Kroger*–I just could not pass up 4 lb. bags of Dixie Crystal sugar for $.39 each and a turkey breast for $4.57 ! In all honesty I may go back and get 4 more bags of sugar!
My total spent out of pocket this week was $26.94–but would have been over $150 without coupons. This week I saved 83% using coupons! Here is what I purchased:

How did you do this week?
I’m new to couponing as of this week. Michelle – thanks so much for this site. The way you list the ads and coupon matchups is easy to read and very helpful.
I had a good shopping trip earlier in the week, but was impressed with myself (as was the cashier) last night. $9.46 including tax for the following:
Glass Plus x1
Green Giant frozen veggies x2
Eggo Waffle x1
Hebrew National Franks x1
Sara Lee Cheescake Bites x1
Reach toothbrushes x2
Chinet plates x3
J&J rolled gauze x2 (for a Halloween project!)
Thomas English Muffins x1
Between sale prices & coupons I saved $31.60.
Mr. Linky isn’t working for me today, so here’s the link to my Publix savings this week: http://girlstogrow.blogspot.com/2009/05/great-savings-at-publix-this-week.html
I live in Suwanee, GA and my Kroger refused to double the .30 cent Dixie Crystal coupon because on the coupon it states “Do Not Double”. I’ve never run into this before. I thought Kroger would double no matter what. Has this ever happened to you? Thanks!
Kelly–sorry to hear that your store refused to double the coupon. I knew it would not double without cashier assistance so I made sure to remind her to manually double the coupon. I had no isse what so ever–it would be worth a try to speak with the manager!
Thanks, Michelle for your response. I spoke with Customer Svc but not the mgr. They wouldn’t let the coupon double. Guess that’s why I love & shop at Publix, too. Publix is much easier to deal with and have never given me any trouble!
I live in Riverdale and my coupon did not double…in a recent coupon workshop I learned if the barcode beginning with 9 will not double and the dixie barcode began with 9…I did not know the cashier could manually double it…oh well $.69 for 4lb bag of sugar isn’t bad!
My print limit on the Hebrew National was (1) argggh!
I really wanted to stock up on those. They are the only hotdogs we eat and only buy them when they are on sale.
Thanks for linking to your savings on my blog.
Thanks so much for all that you do Michelle! This week’s grocery trip was $102.81 before coupons and $50.38 after!! I found your website about 2 weeks ago and have already saved my family over $100! Thanks again!
