I am finished shopping this week so I thought I would go ahead and post my weekly totals. It was another super busy week so I just stopped at Publix to grab what we needed as well as a few super deals. My freezer is a bit empty so I will need to do a meat stock very soon… so I am happy I am under budget this week 😀 I will just add the extra funds to my budget for next week to cover the cost of the meat!!
I purchased a $50 BP gift card this week but did not include it in my spreadsheet since that money is not pulled from my grocery budget. For me it was a smart purchase as that $50 gas card allowed me to get $10 off my groceries!!
I might also have to up my produce budget a bit as my 2 year old has decided that all he want to eat is fruit!! Seriously, he went through a bag of apples and an entire bunch of bananas in 4 days!! I am down to only canned and frozen fruit for the weekend–oh my!! I just wish he would enjoy vegetables as much as fruit 😉
So this week I spent $16.45 for $87.81 worth of items. My savings percentage this week was 82%–not too bad at all. I have a feeling that my totals will be a bit higher next week…I must grab some meat to restock my freezer.

what is a calendar Q and how can I get them???
I’m confused. Is this your shopping trip from the new sales this week or last week? Some of it looks like last weeks sales.
Wow .. I found your blog and have awesome savings. I have been telling all my friends about this site. I see you have Q for fruits and veggies That is awesome since I buy a lot of those. What are calendar Q’s and how do I get them? If you have posted about it ; I have missed it, sorry, let me know where and I will check
Today at Publi the total was $252.87 and after all of my coupons I paid $88.01. I have started a Coupons & Coffee group here locally and everyone is having a ball of fun and saving a ton!!!
I spent $28.75 for $155.19! My best ever! Woo hoo!!!
What, please (I’m a newbie) is a calendar Q ?
Diane,
Publix had a calendar that they gave out that has one coupon for each month. March’s coupon is $1 off produce. She must have a lot of the calendars. 🙂 Publix discontinued giving out the calendars when people had an issue with which holidays Publix listed (a Hindu or Muslim holiday, I can’t remember which) and which ones they did not list (Pearl Harbor) in the calendar. There was such an uproar that Publix pulled the calendars.
do you have to buy the wine too to use a wine tag?
The “wine tag” is a tag that’s around any bottled product. For example, it could be on a ketchup bottle, pasta sauce jar, etc. It might say buy this sauce, get a $1 off the purchase of pasta. Some people take the wine tags off bottles without buying the product (to use at another store). I don’t agree with that, especially when people pull peelies off products, but people have differing opinions.
Also the Calendar was for Miami (or south florida) only.
In my opinion it is stealing if you take peelies or wine tags off of products without buying them. That is just flat out dishonest.
